everything is already on sale here since before xmas...
i went just before xmas and i can't say there was anything i was dying for...
though i must say that junya did some incredible patchwork sweaters this year...
probably the best he's ever done, imho...
they just didnt have one that worked for me...
    :ermm:...

that ad is funny with the elephant...
i don't remember seeing the elephant, but i guess it must be new...
what i remember most is a GIANT fly...
    :ninja:...

they said that they are changing the NY store for the new year...
should be interesting to see how it evolves...

I'm kind of (and by "kind of", I mean "really") obsessed with this shirt from their Shirt line. It's soooo hideous that it actually winds up being beautiful. And the fact that the blocks of print are patterns instead makes that much more -worthy.

I know the fabric but your skirt doesn't seem to have been bought by kikuya.

got a wool suit, handsome one ( for comme ). of course it's black.

yeah- i didn't see a pic of the skirt on the runway...
it's good, but i think i might want to get a comme comme top to go with it...
the one i tried in the store was better than anything i have at home...

    your suit sounds lovely...

tried looking around the web for the pics but no luck.
will take a pic of it later even if I'm afraid it could look like just a black mass in the dim shape of a suit.
the fabric feels a bit like lightweight dry cotton and doesn't have the exact appearance of the typical wool.
I, in it, was munching sushi with my sister the other day and actually she asked whether it is cotton.
it has some subtle stitching detail.
though I may have to wash it myself for some puckering effect after all, it is rather dapper at this moment.

    thanks for the pic...
   ...

    oh...that suit is so nice...
love the little pick stitching on the lapel...
it's more tapered than i am used to from comme...
and the lapel is a bit wider ...
    dapper, indeed!

you wear it with a shirt and no tie?

    teiban>>>classic?
what we were talking about before?
    which time?!......
we talk about so many things...

yes it has to be worn with a shirt. not good with a t-shirt. that's the difference of the suit from the typical lang suit I guess. I may dig out my old comme ties.

    yes could be something classic.
basically teiban is tei-ban, tei = fixed, regular, constant, etc and ban = numbers. so, teiban is originally something they never drop from the catalogue.
for example, that lmaltieri car coat whose item code was C04 (coat 04) had always been catalogued and therefore was so familiar to everyone that it came to be known as C04 at some point. it was definitely teiban and this is where the word comes from.

then if, broadly interpreting the word, you use it in some more general context, you'd often mean by it something evergreen like the look/style in the beverage ad which we were talking about in the tokyo midtown thread.
