Comme Des Garcons - Guerrilla Stores

As far as I know many other fashion houses with no persolatity and psilosophy such as prada, copied the philosophy of CdG, by making series of perfumes. this one very good reason to stop making series and as we all know CdG is one step ahead! isn't it?

Not so many:-)) GB. I think it's just Prada, (and then Armani followed and made boutique scents) and IUNX, which are lovely, but closed unfortunately.

Does it mean that the series will soon not be available anymore?! Or simply that they do not intend to bring out more?

I should in the first case buy a few of my favourite ones if they won't be available anymore (happened to me with the blue series, arrrrrghhh)

Prada and Armani...two fashion houses with no values, i think CdG did well, it has lots of great and unique ideas!!:D

The first series (leaves) is discontinued. It had the white (25 ml), green (50ml), blue (75ml)bottles. Then they kept producing only the green ones. I think you meant this one, i-love? But I have heard that Comme would remake the Calamus due to "popular demand":-)

So it's time for the CdG4 tho, hehe. The CdG3 was released quite a time ago.

They should bring the 8th - They always like the number 8:-P. Or it's 7+G=8:-))

You don't see a GS in Munich or Lyon, that´s true - but I think merely because those cities are not really interesting, e.g. there is hardl any 'underground' movement or subculture to find. In Italy, for example in Milano, there is practically no youth subculture at all.

Of course I believe that amongst US teenagers Rebellion is 'hot'. But that's not the point imo. First of all, because teenagers are in majority not really CDG clients (except in Japan) and moreover the CDG and the Guerilla tactics is not only about being 'hot', but about having an understanding about what and why you wear.

Teenage rebellion seen in this case (as I understand you) as a possible motivation for opening Guerilla Stores is difficult imo.

That was exactly my point. If you remember, you said (rightfully so) that NY/SF are hardly representative of average America. I am saying that cities like Munich and Lyon are hardly representative of that "cultured, sophisticated, liberal, progressive European" image that stands in opposition to the "neo-conservative, dumb, prejudiced, cultureless American" image.

Sure, teenage rebellion is a hard motivation for a guerrilla store, but teenage rebellion with money is a perfect one, and Berlin/Copenhagen are chuckfull of that, just like NY/SF are. Anyway, this whole rebellion thing stemmed from your comment that a word like "guerrilla" would have negative connotations in the US. Believe me - there is no word negative enough in the US if it allows you to make money out of which you will pay taxes to the government. Just look at the entertainment industry, especially Hollywood and rap music.

youre the best guerrilla boy......

There will be two new perfumes GUERRILLA 1 & 2, that why you see GUERRILLA 2 on the photo and you can only buy it from Guerrilla stores and COMME des GARCONS stores, no CdG clients have this perfume!!

guerrilla boy , you are probably the best person to answer this...what is the guerrilla bottle made of ?..glass or some kind of metal..??...and is it spicy or citrusy or floral ?....what is the scent like.??...a totally new experience or derivative of.......

the foam accomapnying the scent ...is it enviromentally friendly ?

do post some more pics thx:D

and [ i have mentioned this in other thread...why does series 7 bottle look..exactlythe same as the anna sui love bottle..?? coincidence or is CDG 's rei K a secret admirer of anna sui..?? ;)

^ co-incidence, no doubt. They're both based on the same source, not on each other. And there is a very different sensibility from each one.

johnny......if the perfumes were launched at near the same time = coincidence .....fine.........not when ANNA sui came first.....years earlier... whats sensablity got to do with it..??.....anyone els who does the same thing would have been wringged thro the pasta machine.:o .....rei K......probably has too many yea men surrounding her not to mention fans who thinks the universe spins around her......sheltering her from reality......the series 7 butterfly bottle is a rip off and as unoriginal as it can get......not withstanding anysensability .....read shroud and manipulative marketing...which is great but......a copy is a copy.

Sorry, I don't agree here. They are only not that interesting, still very European, cultured, sophisticated, liberal and progressive. Especially in Munich you don't find only conservative Bavarians - almost all German fashion magazines like Vogue, Elle etc are made in Munich for example.

But I still hope this would NOT be a motivation for Comme to open a GS there.

I don't agree at all. I think the shape of the bottles shall remind of the sometimes tacky perfume bottles you find on markets. Perfumes that try to 'look' and smell rich, the whole image reminds me of Woolworth or Tati. By the way, how do you know that Anna was the first one ever to use a butterfly shape...?! But, I think this belongs to the other thread. Sorry for being off topic here.

Ditto:-) The bottles design comes from the concept of Sweet. I'd add Pink and "kitsch overdosed" as well:-P

It was even "hand made in China":-)), but Comme said it took quite a time for them to find the artists who make the bottles like they wanted.

I like Burnt Sugar (surprisingly) the most, then Wood Coffee and Sticky Cake. They look like cheap perfume bottles and smell quite "small town sweet". Not like the super sophisticated Serge Lutens Rahat Loukhom or Frederic Malle Listip Rose. I mean you don't feel special when you wear them. You just feel you are very very sweet, even when you are a man:-P
