Comme Des Garcons - Guerrilla Stores

Europeans really need to lighten up on the US . I am sure such a store would do very well in NYC or SF.

Anyway, I don't know why the originally planned Brooklyn store was scrapped, but I am guessing it's because there are way too many CDG/Junya stocklists in NYC to begin with.

Yes the Uk has a great record in this area....oh wait, not it doesn't. Our police shoot people dead because they look middle-eastern and run instead of walk. Doesn't really matter if he was in fact Brazillian or just in a rush for his train...........

I would LOVE to have one in chicago!

^^

Just after the attacks on the London Underground...

Some british officers shot a Brazilian electrician, because they thought he was a suspect in the bombings, however they did not find any explosives or anything remotely suspicious, and they also found out that he had no connection to terrorists at all...

Whoa thats bogus as hell :( :ninja: I hope his family sued someone for a big amount!

Yeah it is... His family got somewhere around.. 585,000 sterling pounds in compensation or something like that...

...

Well back on topic.. Wow! the cologne store is the coolest CdG store I've seen so far... it looks like a bathroom :woot:

I really hope they would open another one in CPH ^_^

Yea i saw pics of it on their website. The things there are very expensive right? I mean do they sell the things off the runway? How are the ppl that work there? are they like into high fashion or like kids just doing a job? Also is it located in an expensive area?

The prices vary a lot... I've seen very expensive jackets and I've seen incredibly cheap jackets as well... Their stock is just whatever that is left from the stores in Japan etc.

I've actually never seen any runway pieces from CdG H+ or Homme... however I've seen some SHIRT pieces in the stores..

The people at the CPH store weren't dressed very "fashion forward" or "avant garde", as one might expect, because they work at a CdG store. However the japanese guy at the Berlin store on Karl Marx Allee (which has just closed) was dressed very Japanese... He had like DH canvas jeans on, CdG blazer, some flannel shirt, destroyed beanie and a deconstructed scarf. And the guys at the HK guerrilla store were also dressed very well.

I think the criterias for the locations are in the article at the first page :):flower:

Sorry I did not intend to offend anybody, but NYC and SF are not the best examples to represent the US, are they...?
It also was just an idea that 'Guerilla' would not work because of the possible negative image of the word. :flower:

Another aspect could be, that (from what I know from my New York friends) fashion interested people do not like to buy pieces from older collections.
That might be the reason why you can sometimes find e.g. CDG bargains for fifty or onehundred bucks in Century 21. Could never happen over here...

Seems to me that Evergreen is a pretty popular line.. and it is based on previous collections..

Right... but you don't exactly see CDG opening Guerrila stores in Lyon or Munich either, do you? Every country has their liberals and their conservatives, their students and their rednecks. Rebellion is just as hot of a commodity amongst the US teenagers as it is amongst the European ones.

As far as older items at full price, you may have a point there. There are plenty of outlets/discount stores/consignment stores/sample sales in NYC area not to have to pay a full price for old items. And rightfully so. However, CDG is pretty tightly distributed - I haven't see much of it in discount stores.

I saw just few pieces of runway pieces here in W. The last collections (Broken Bride) were selling so fast that they didn't have them for the Gs.

In general just one or two runway outfits arrive early at G here in Warsaw. But they do come a bit more later.

A good place for it to me would be like in a smaller town near a big city in the US. Or they might just put it in a city that has no CDG. I know here in chicago only a few places sell CDG: Barneys for example. it still would be too cool if chicago could get one :D

san francisco would be a perfect place for a guerilla store because it has this sort of bohemien vibe to everything and plus CdG is not widely distributed here, i have only seen a few pieces at saks and they were the more boring pieces

interesting packaging for the perfumes. Looks like a bottle of sumi ink. Thanks for posting nqth.

How many different kinds of CDG perfumes are out there? Or do they just change the packaging from time to time?

guerrilla parfums

WOW the bottles of guerrilla parfums look very striking ...hopethe scent smells as good as it looks ...!!

nnqth ... you mean they are in the warsaw store now..?? ...

are the bottles plastic or glass.???

is there a guerrilla 1 ..??...since in the pix there is guerrilla 2 .

In Berlin and Singapore they do have pieces from current collections. In GS Berlin they had many pieces of the Broken Bride collection, but expensive though...
