The difference isn't really that great, and now with the Intel based Macs you can even run Windows on them if you want to...

ahh i had to revive this thread to say MACBOOK all the way. i made the switch, my MacBook came today.. It's rough for me.. (no spider solitaire! haha), but here I am . on my oh so aesthetically pleasing mac

My PC died a couple of weeks ago, and my boyfriend bought me a laptop... At first it was hard to adjust, but now I just love it so much... I don't think I would go back to a PC anytime soon. It's just so much easier having something I can carry around!

I have both but I prefer a computer since I spend a lot of my time at home right now. I have a pretty old Dell laptop though so perhaps I'll change my tune once I upgrade.

For first semester at school I only had my desktop (they're cheaper and can hold more....and it's speakers go way louder ) not to mention since I was 'stuck to my desk' when I needed to study everyone cleared out of the room.
But now I also have a laptop, which is wonderful. I love being able to go to the parlor or library and work. The only thing is that now I can't kick people out of my room....and laptops are so much easier to steal than a whole desktop comp.

So honestly when choosing between a desktop or laptop, just figure out what you'll be using is for more.
