Maybe I'm the Only one here (lol),
but I really like:
- Raf Simons for Dior (but I hate what he did at Prada)
- Frida Giannini for Gucci
- Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy
- And last but not least, Alessandra Facchinetti for Valentino. (She was simply ahead of her time, her work at Valentino was all about modernizing the brand, and looking back now, it feels incredibly relevant to today's fashion landscape.)

when Frida's Gucci it was great but when it was bad it was....Dire.

She would have lasted longer if she didnt try to start an internal takeover with her husband Patrizio who was the CEO.

Frida only looked good for Gucci in hindsight. At the time, picking up from Tom and Alessandra, she was dishwasher. Don't fall for the illusion.

I don't understand why it's so hard for some to accept that there are people who simply like Frida's Gucci. It's not about revisionism or falling for illusion because of the times we are in. I like her work now just as much as I did back then.

Her collections were easily lost in the tide of groundbreaking designs from both major and rising labels. Generously speaking, If evaluated by today’s fashion standards, I’d say Frida’s Gucci would comfortably fall somewhere between mid and good, the ceiling is low AF.

For someone who liked it then, it’s ok.
A lot of people enjoy it now because with the eyes of today, everything from back then looks good.
She was great with accessories. I never really enjoyed her clothes.

But maybe I’m just hard on her.
Maybe time will be kinder to Kim Jones at Fendi or MGC at Dior.

I think she was part of that wave of late 00s designers who really championed the party girl spirit of the time. Her work wasn't ugly by any means. Just a bit juvenile.
