Converse - The All-Things 'Converse Sneakers/Trainers' Thread

They used to be so cheap, thanks to Nike, the price have now skyrocketed and the quality did just the opposite.
I used to have some pairs in elementary school. They were like $20 or $25 a pair. I can't believe how much they're charging now. And they were crap back then, so I can't imagine how awful they must be if quality has gone downhill. I hated mine after a while. They all fell apart so fast, and they gave me blisters. So uncomfortable...

Now that I think about it, I rarely see a pair that doesn't look like it's literally falling apart. :yuk:

i think they look much better when they are 'falling apart'...
that's part of the aesthetic....
it's punk..it's rock n roll....it's dirrrrty.....:mohawk:

They cost about 50€ in Spain. The plain ones, because those specials with prints, different materials... are a bit more expensive.

......... Softie, were you being sarcastic?!

i love converses  i used to have tons when i was a kid ( 80's) now i just own one pair

I notice when you wear them for the first time, they're a bit uncomfortable, but after a while (a week or so) you think you're walking on a cloud or something!!!!!

The quality is really bad though, mine got open on the sides and the inside.... after like a month. Well I must admit that was when I was working at Dunkin's and I did a lot of "hopping around" and bending my feet when I was standing. But after a month.... I am sure most shoes aren't as badly made as these. I had to get them fixed at some store for only 2$..... Now I try to never bend my shoes, which is quite weird because it's a bit uncomfortable when you have to lay them flat on the ground everytime....

But I still love them. The black hi tops are a classic. I want to get a few other pairs in maybe turquoise or red in lo probably to variate, but I fear I love my black hi tops too much compared to them, and I would end up not wearing them too much.

But Softie, I somehow agree with you, Converse DO look better when they're "all" worn out...... ....but not really falling apart.... ^_^

I love my converse  mine are really battered now though...

It kind of annoys me now loads of people are wearing them!

Ozzy and misfits cons

This is a pair of cons I did for a customer hand sewn...

i like them, they feel really casual and i dont care about getting them dirty. I have the low classic black ones and chuck taylor red/black. I dont mind wearing them here because they arent exactly a "Trend" yet..

What's fun about black Converse is that they go with EVERYTHING!!!

actually i agree with softgrey. i hate people who wear chucks that are not dirty and ripped and torn. it makes a siren go off in my head like "WANNABE!!!" "POSEUR!" and the sort. i don't wear sneakers very often but like to pair my ripped dark brown chucks with torn lacy pretty skirts!

Ermmmm, but aren't those who tore their Converse on purpose even BIGGER poseurs? :innocent:

I just think clean shoes look bad....the wearing of the shoes makes it look like they'ved lived a little haha

I  MY CONVERSE
