My favourite bit of the US cover is the line "LeAnn Rimes stole my husband."

Ha!

re the Pixie Lott cover
Is it the picture or the design thats bad?
any scans?

Both to be fair. She's got her hand up near her mouth in some odd pose, with a giant ring on her finger, which obscures more of her face. Just looks tacky really.

Sorry, no scans. I didn't bring the issue home with me. I generally just look at it, and pass it on. Ha.

I was looking forward to seeing Shakira on the cover of Cosmo, because I had the misguided belief that somehow, her craziness would translate into a energetic cover, but I should have known they'd find some way of ruining it, with rancid colours and a bizarre lace leotard.

I used to find Pixie Lott pretty but overexposed, but on the last few covers I've seen, she's started looking overprocessed as well, rather cheap and ordinary. She needs to change her hair colour.

Shakira looks fresh and sexy on the cover. Something i noticed is she's not wearing a mini dress like most of cosmo cover girls do, different that suits her perfectly cos that's her.
I love J.Lo but she looks weird and a little bit scary on the Indonesia's cover.

I like this new look Cosmo. It feels fresh and new. Reminds me of American Glamour.
Bet it has good newstand stand out.

They've retained the classic title font, but apart from that, there's nothing distinctive about that cover at all. Well, aside from its utter idiocy.

I wondered if it was going to transform itself into something a bit more like the US version. That might sell a shrill sense of self-assertive vulgarity - but it's still better than a handbook for dullness.

For a mainstream girls magazine, personally I think it looks far better than Company, UK Glamour, More! and Marie Claire.

I think it's awful personally. Cheap, tacky and without any actual 'fashion' content.

I suppose it depends on what you perceive the ethos of Cosmo is - for me, it was a magazine aimed at women who wanted to get ahead in life, in terms of being on top in their career, their relationships, and all the rest of it. Brash, canny, abrasive, determined, self-educated. But it's been a long time since I ever touched a copy of this magazine, so if market forces mean it's now reduced to using phrases like 'being single makes me sparkle' on the cover, appealling to girls who still like playing with glitter glue is an audience of a sort, I suppose.
