Cover Rumor Thread

^ Well personally I think its fantastic that she supports the Australia fashion industry and we are able to see their work. I respect her for that so its a shame you feel that way
and plus, the last 2 covers haven't featured models who are in the 'Australian fashion mafia' and possibly a 3rd cover.

It's UK Elle that is Emma Watson.

Fingers crossed British Elle have done something different with Emma, I can't bare to witness another pretty/pixie direction. No matter who photographs her, I tend to find the photos uninspiring. Even British Bazaar failed to flatter her.

The Duchess of Cambridge covering American Vogue sounds questionable. British Vogue, of course.. although that offer was declined. Must be the competition of who can seal the first appearance.

^ No offense, but you should really read the comments more carefully, because no one said Wintour to reprint the article, it was about UK Vogue using Wintour's cover.

If Kate does US Vogue, couldn't they just repeat the article and photos for the British publication as well? Vanity Fair does it...sometimes. If it's a big star--they might just use a different cover image.

Bravo!
I could not have said it better, I love how Vogue Australia has made itself so open and willing to nurture all the new talent especially in our own Aussie fashion industry and those who work outside of it. Kirstie and her team have delivered consistently this year and its been awesome. I'd love it if both Alina and Rosie land the cover- that'd be lovely!

On a side note, I would love to see Kate land the cover of US Vogue. If She did I'd assume it'd be the March: Power issue. and aside from all the "protocol" i still think the idea is fantastic. I'd definetly say Yes to Anna- I'm not to keen on Alexandra...but thats just my personal preference.

^ Thank you YourMonster, I think its a magazine like Vogue to nurture and represent local design and innovation whether its fashion, photography etc It's almost a duty and I don't see any other magazine who consistently celebrates local talent.

And with Kate - Vogue thing it ain't going to happen...for a while

Vogue Australia was in my top five favorite fashion magazines years ago when there's was Greg Kadel, Todd Barry and even some good reprints... nowadays the magazine is a pale copy of what it should be and sometimes I think the content is made for Grazia and not Vogue :innocent:

i agree, especially with the timing of her husbands ascendancy. he may not ascend for another twenty years or longer.

diana was on the cover of vogue UK in august 1981 in a portrait by lord snowdon, however.

but diana was a princess, not a duchess and much closer to ascension.

also kate has not chosen a charity yet to "adopt" so there's nothing to promote.

I'm not sure younger women will really care about Kate doing Vogue in twenty years though. I think now is the right time for her to do a fashion spread--she's at the height of her popularity and glamour. The Palace has to realize that this is the 21st Century and you can't hide royals away to keep up that enigmatic quality. That ship has sailed.

And I agree that she would take heat for choosing American over British, so it probably won't happen stateside. Honestly, I'm surprised her sister hasn't done a cover yet. I really thought she would've done a September issue of Vogue.

Miss Dalloway's point still stands. That post was so obviously referring to UK Vogue reprinting an article from US Vogue.

The 'they' is referring to UK vogue.

Wow can't wait for Nov issue of Vogue Australia, Bali and Bondi!

Jessica Gomes could very well be a fantastic choice for the November cover of Vogue Australia. Shes been very buddy-buddy with Kirstie Clements lately especially since she was the face of Vogue Fashion's night out. She has a body made for swimwear!!!

Glossy magazines hoping to carry exclusive portraits and an interview with Kate, The Duchess of Cambridge can forget it, for now.
Latest rumors were that Vogue was hoping to secure a shoot by Mario Testino for the fashion monthly. But the palace denies any deal. "There are no plans for the Duchess to do anything with U.S. Vogue," a spokeswoman tells PEOPLE.

^ *sigh of relief* Thank God. I have no desire whatsoever to see her on the cover of US Vogue anytime soon.

Maybe I'm reading into it too much, but the fact the statement says US Vogue means to me it's what we presumed, if she's going to appear on any cover, it's going to be the British edition. If/ever.

Oh it will happen, Im sure of it, its just not the right time at the moment it seems, she needs to define her point of view more before she is off doing covers, and interviews like that.

^^I agree with you!

I think if Kate snags the December cover for next year that'd be lovely, I don't know why but I was in a way hoping to see her pop on the cover of US Vogue but I think it'll happen when the time is "right" i guess.

V Magazine‘s themed issues have become an industry standard and for the mag’s latest extravaganza they look to fashion’s finest faces for inspiration. If you’ve been waiting for a magazine to take note of some of the incredible new girls on the scene then wait no more. V74 will feature eight key up and comers (described as “future supermodel contenders) on the cover - making this a must have issue for model watchers. Add in the incredible contributions from the likes of Carine Roitfeld, Terry Richardson, Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, Daniele Duella and Iango Henzi and this looks like one hell of an issue. Take a look at the first preview featuring Hedi Slimane‘s evocative portraits of Daphne Groeneveld, Emily Baker and Charlotte Free.

Sounds exciting! Hoping Saskia or Daphne have covers as well as some more risky choices like Nyasha.
