Perhaps off-topic, but it relates to Vogue covers and the previous discussion in this thread and I can't leave well enough alone, so....
Looking into it, there appears to be some controversy over who started the Vogue Challenge and what the intent was. Salma Noor credits herself as the creator of the challenge and is now being widely credited as such, not just on twitter but by various outlets. Last week she tweeted a photo of herself with a "Vogue" written across the top, but didn't mention it being a challenge. It currently has about 500 likes. Earlier this week, a couple days after the #VogueChallenge took off, she posted a new cover and said she was the creator but had never been given credit. Three weeks ago, David Kim, a tiktok star with over 700,000 followers posted a series of fake Vogue covers featuring himself after being "challenged" by fans to do so (that's his shtick it appears) and other tiktok users started copying it, including James Charles (who credited David Kim) and Salma Noor (who deleted that video after she was accused of stealing the credit, as it proves where she got the idea). A week ago, David posted a second tiktok taking credit for being the creator. It would appear this trend had absolutely nothing to do with challenging Anna Wintour or with criticizing Vogue, though in the past few days some who have participated in the challenge have done so as a means of responding to Anna's internal email. Looks like James Charles doesn't need to apologize.... this time.
