Cover Rumor Thread

Looks like Representative Jamie Raskin and his wife banking regulator Sarah Bloom are in the February issue of Vogue US. Their feature just hit vogue.com

So maybe the cover star will be revealed in 10 days or less.

I don't think it's about beauty, but rather the mothers. Kaia, Hadids and Lila all have model mothers, two of which have personally worked with Meisel over the years and I think that's what sets these girls apart from other nepotism models. You won't see legendary models like Naomi Campbell mentoring Kendall Jenner or Hailey. All they have is their family wealth and social media following. But the models' daughters have years of friendship and connections their mothers made in the industry over the years to help boost their fashion careers and I guess that still counts for something.

If I'm not wrong Naomi been mentoring the Hadid sisters right before their breakout but you are right she would never with someone like Kendall Jenner or Hailey , I wonder if she will help Lila or not.
Lila will sure work with Meisel probably for an upcoming cover for Vogue UK but I think they are just waiting for her to get more experiences and be comfortable

Newsstand's website is usually spot-on with British Vogue's on-sale dates, right? (@tigerrouge). They have the February issue listed for release on 18/01/2021 which seems rather late. Unique Magazines also has the same date and now I'm sat here wondering if there's a transatlantic collaboration with American Vogue coming our way...

If there is, Zoe Kravitz would definitely make sense. The Batman, advertiser-friendly, not super overexposed. I wonder if they’d do different photographers (Adele) or share that too (Gaga). I’d be down for a Gotham-themed shoot by Annie, but maybe that’s too obvious.

Both magazines haven’t had a WoC on the cover in a few months, too, so I imagine, given their outspoken commitments to racial diversity, they’re both eager to change that.

Surprised we haven’t seen more Euphoria covers. It’s out in less than a week!

Something I noticed when looking at the Conde Nast ad specs for UK Vogue earlier today is that the magazine's on sale dates for 2022 are shifting to be in the second half of the month, rather than being in the first two weeks of the month: (adportal.condenast.co.uk)

Issue Schedule
Issue - On Sale Date
March 2022 - 22 Feb 2022
April 2022 - 29 Mar 2022
May 2022 - 26 Apr 2022
June 2022 - 24 May 2022
July 2022 - 21 Jun 2022
August 2022 - 19 Jul 2022
September 2022 - 23 Aug 2022
October 2022 - 20 Sep 2022
November 2022 - 18 Oct 2022
December 2022 - 15 Nov 2022
January 2023 - 20 Dec 2022

There's no mention of the Feb 2022 issue in this list because the deadline for submitting ad copy for that one has passed. And these dates are subject to change - when the decision was made in 2021 to start sharing content, it seemed to affect the dates that had been given on a similar list for that year.

They must've read my posts b!tching about how UK Vogue gets to release shared content first.

(kidding! but it's fun to image some insiders visit this forum on occasion!)

If I wait that long and it's not Meisel I will absolutely have a rant.

I guess it makes sense with them sharing content and cover stars. It seems silly to move UK Vogue's date slightly forward and US Vogue slightly back every time they share a cover, and I doubt Anna likes Edward's Vogue being first to market with the shoots: it gives the impression that everyone is just reprinting UK Vogue material, as opposed to it being collaborative.

It's annoying to wait a bit longer this time, but in general I'm glad about it - having the magazine be a full 4 weeks ahead of the calendar month seems so antiquated in today's world, even if at one time it made sense. At least this new illusion of the magazine being up-to-date and timely is a more relevant one than the illusion that it still dictates trends ahead of time (or at all).

From the UK Vogue full-page ad spec on their ad portal, it seems like the size change will mean the magazine is slightly narrower from now on. I measured a current issue and it's 220mm wide, but the new specifications state 210mm wide - so we've lost 10mm. Height appears to be the same at 285mm.

So the plot thickens... US Vogue cover and story are already out! Perhaps the UK Vogue print dates are wrong, or maybe Anna has swapped their schedules around so she's now first out of the gate. Edward will still outshine her with his offering I'm sure, but at least she gets to go first - better for her than all the hype going to UK Vogue with the US trailing behind.

I suppose this could be a one-off, but if not then it's really funny that I assumed they've made the change so that the shared content seems collaborative instead of just reprints from UK Vogue. It may well turn out to be that Anna doesn't have a problem with people thinking the other editions are reprinting shoots at all, she just wants people to think they're being reprinted from her magazine.

Is a Salma Hayek cover in Edward's plans? I saw some post about her on British Vogue IG.

Really hope it’s an actual, noticeable change. GQ is desperately in need of a refresh.

^ I hope to god this has nothing to do with British Vogue being late too.

Their global music issue was so boring. No fashion at all, just Gen Z artists. I hope their sport issue will be better.

W Magazine teasing their upcoming annual 'Best Performances' issue, due out tomorrow:
