Cover Rumor Thread

Keke Palmer will no doubt get a major cover or two for Nope, coming out this summer. Given that Anna chose her to be a Met Gala featured player, I wonder if she could score a Vogue cover, as well.

I would love this, but I could see Samira giving Keke a Harper’s BAZAAR cover for “NOPE”

People usually pay millions for exclusivity... It sure was interesting for her financially, in fact, it might even help her get back in a fashion magazine, as People will help promote the subject to the general public!

I certainly hope it helps her get back into fashion. She mentions in the interview that she’s done hiding so fingers crossed her industry friends show up for her (if that’s what she wants- haven’t read the whole story).

In an odd turn of events, though my guess about the deuxmoi hint was wrong, Linda Evangelista has been photographed for a magazine and is discussing and showing her ‘disfigurement’… but it’s for People magazine
This could have been Edward’s exclusive and next sold out, a wasted oportunity

There's no way in hell People paid Linda Evangelista millions for anything.
They don't have the budget for that (no magazine does), and she wouldn't even be worth it.
Most Americans have no idea who she is, and could care about her botched plastic surgery woes.

Well maybe not millions then, but I’m sure she got a large sum of money. And would People give her a cover if she was not that well known in America?

I doubt they gave her a dime. Like I said, no magazine does that, or could even afford it, in 2022.
She's not a star, or a draw for the audience that reads People.
Naomi Campbell is better known, and she's not even American.
No one in Iowa cares about Linda Evangelista.

If that’s true then why would People put someone on the cover nobody knows?

There's a reason why 'MY COSMETIC PROCEDURE NIGHTMARE' are the biggest, boldest words on the cover - it doesn't matter who it is, people who love celebrity mags love reading about that stuff. A beautiful person is losing their looks! A woman is being punished for her vanity! The reader is drawn in by those words alone, even if they've never heard of the person.

People is the most comprehensive magazine in the USA, their audience is bigger than any magazine, so if they were going to pay her something, it certainly wouldn't be difficult for them!

Most Americans might not know who Linda is, but magazine readers, especially women well into adulthood (which is certainly People’s base) will recognize her face at the very least, from so many years of advertising, and the promise of a cosmetic surgery horror story will entice them. People has been known to pay for exclusives, but I can’t imagine they had to fight any other publication for this story and I also suspect People is often paid by their cover subjects (or favors are called in) for the wide exposure.

I think that it will also draw in more readers due to her infamous “$10,000 a day” quote.

LMAO!

The story seems to have been picked up by everyone. They did a 7 minute segment about it on The View, it's in the Washington Post, Entertainment Tonight, etc. Plus all the usual suspects like Page 6 and The Daily Mail. Lots of eyes on Linda and her cardigans.
