Cover Rumor Thread

Um. I prefer models than celebrities.

Models belong on magazine covers. Celebs belong in movies and on tv.

Ugh. I want celebs on the VF covers, not models.

Did you mean actresses/musicians? Because Gisele's certainly a celebrity in her own right! B)

As for model vs. media celebrity...everyone is equally deserving, I would say, but here at TFS many do prefer the former. But no worries, really, the Natalie's, Cate's, and Jessica's will definitely continue their dominance ^_^ From the rumors, most September covers will still be theirs!

The issue last year was great!:woot: Too bad I threw it away after I took out all of the ads.:(

^ Interesting, that'd be. I'm not a Cory hater, but I never saw her doing a normal shoot, glamed up or with her hair combed. :ninja:

Brett Ratner Shoots for Vanity Fair: "It's so cool because they always have the best photographers," enthuses the lensman, who reports he's just finished shooting two stories for the magazine. "I just shot Gustavo Santaolalla, the Academy Award-winning composer for 'Brokeback Mountain' and 'Babel' for the music issue. For their September issue, I did a huge story on 'The Tabloid Boys,' which is about all the guys being written about in the tabloids -- all the boyfriends of girls like Paris Hilton, which is weird because I'm grateful not to be in that story."

^^  That is interesting, specially that for once they will feature "tabloid boys" and not all the obvious females.
Thanks for posting.

Whats wrong with Natalie Portman nabbing the september issue of US vogue?
She has brains beauty and talent and I think she is very interesting to listen to.
Though it appears I am the minority here as well..hehe.

It seems like Anna can't get past the same stable of actresses for the cover. She's repeating the same 8 actresses over and over for the past 2-3 years. It gets old. Why only movie actresses on the cover. Why not famous athletes or tv actresses?

Nicole Kidman's thriller with Daniel Craig is coming out in August. They graced the cover of W's A-List issue back in Feb., but I wonder if another round of promotion is due. Craig's already got Interview, but I wonder if Ms. Kidman will get a Sept cover this year. Bazaar? InStyle? Don't think it will be Vogue.

Scarlett Johansson should get a Sept cover for "The Nanny's Diaries" as well.

'the nanny diaries' with comes out on 24 august 2007 in the us.

nicole kidman has 'margot at the wedding' coming out in november, and the film has rumored oscar buzz. she also has 'the golden compass' coming out in december. i heard (from an inside industry source) that she shot something for vanity fair, but i don't know if it was for an upcoming cover. i agree with liberty, she will probably get at least one cover of some major fashion magazine in the next few months.

Get ready for some UK September magazines to come out this week, because I can remember Marie Claire listing 2 Aug as its release date, and here's the official info from Conde Nast UK:

Tatler will be on sale on 9 Aug and will come with a "what to buy this Autumn" supplement, a sort of cross between a catwalk guide and an editor's choice article.

UK Vanity Fair is supposed to be on sale 3 Aug. Also, the official site additionally lists October as being "The New Establishment", November as "Music Issue" and December as "Art Issue".

Also, Conde Nast US lists these as the onsale dates for the next few issues, though it also gives the proviso 'editorial calendar subject to change':

September/Fall Fashion Issue - 8/21/07
October/Weekend Wear - 9/25/07
November/Fashion’s New Guard - 10/23/07
December/Holiday Issue / Resort Collection - 11/27/07

These figures come from the page which lists closing dates for submission of advertising copy, as well as the onsale dates, as above. It's a guide, if not a guarantee. I'd to think September US Vogue would make an appearance well before the 21st!
