Cover Rumor Thread

^ Its very true, teen stars seem to be all the rage this year, i will simply quietly ignore it (like i have been doing so faar!), doubt it will last.

I was praying it wouldn't happen when I read it.
The teens stars are completely dominating the magazines at this point. And Allure was doing so well Amy Adams and Amanda Seyfried to Vanessa Hudgens?

I completely agree. I remember when you had to be a model, or at the very least a talented actress, to score a magazine cover. Not anymore. Sad state of affairs.

Actually I don't know if it was a casting for Russh or if the Russh team were just at a show casting?

Well usually Russh contents are uploaded by via vimeo ? Anyways I don't like Anna.S but I like the fact that Russh uses international models for covers.

I think I'm right in saying they just mean it as any one who is not white/Caucasian? Whether it be Hispanic, Asian, African American/Black etc.

Cheryl Cole is so vile. Why is she everyones little darling?
Have they not forgotten this? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/3207822.stm
or calling Lily Allen 'A chick with a d**k'. Publically demeaning another is so low rent. Just like her weave.

How is that any worse than the trash Lily Allen spews out of her mouth about every other celebrity. At least she's clever about it, the second somebody reacts against her she takes pictures of herself crying in bed on myspace and wants us to pity her because she feels "ugly."

There has been an improvement, but I still think we could use some more women of color on our magazines. I just came to the very sad realization that I don't own any magazines with a cover girl from eastern Asian countries such as Japan, Korea, China, etc.. I'm trying to get a cover with Du Juan off the internet, but it's just unsettling that out of the dozens of issues that I have, I don't already have one. It's odd that here in America, we have very few female celebrities from East Asian decent that could land the cover of a major fashion magazine such as Vogue. We have maybe Ann Curry and Lucy Liu?
I think Vogue US has been very good this year by choosing to use Michelle, Liya, and Beyoncé though. They are so much more deserving in my opinion than someone like Blake Lively. I think Naomi Campbell, Queen Latifah or maybe even both Venus and Serena could handle a major American cover well, but I don't know if that's likely.

^ I agree it can be very nervewracking to see the same faces over and over again as the standard of beauty when there are so many women who are beautiful and work hard but never get the same recognition. I feel that times are changing and soon enough (this is me being optimistic) women of color will be regular fixtures on the covers of American magazines.

I heard from a source that Lara Stone should have an upcoming Vogue UK cover soon.

^ She was at the British leg of Fashion's Night Out with the Vogue team at Bally. So I think it's likely she'll have something coming up with them.

^ Thanks for sharing Manuva, that is unusual to hear, Stone on UK, but she certainly had a fantastic year.
