I am very disconcerted by the fact that bloggers will be featured in Vogue as well. It doesn't quite make sense that the editors at Vogue are embracing the whole blogging phenomenon, considering that the bloggers are in a way undermining their occupations. If I were an editor at Vogue, I would be a bit loathful of bloggers.

Also, the fact that Tavi wrote an article for the January issue of Bazaar is just ridiculous to me. I think it is great that she is very mature for her age and can voice her opinion in an adult manner, but allowing her to write for a fashion magazine that is mostly aimed at women in their Thirties and up is a bit odd. Also, imagine how insulting it must be to those writers who have been to school and have worked their ***es off to see an adolescent female writing for a magazine they could only dream to write for. It is a beyond unsettling thought. I could understand if she were writing for Teen Vogue, but Bazaar?

^ Although seriously, Bazaar had some way more random choices in the past as well. Ashton Kutcher writing about couples getting dressed, Rita Wilson (lol) about layering.etc :rofl: They all make Tavi look like a pro.

I dont mind BryanBoy, and other bloggers being featured at all, it could be done well, and besides i doubt it will be a huge feature anyway. It does however feel like they are way to late to the party, as usual.

^ Good point. Tavi fits right in with the odd assortment of guest writers from the past :lol:! At least she probably knows more about fashion than Ashton and Rita combined.

I know the BryanBoy et. al. feature will be very brief, probably a group shot and a page article (unless they do page features on each blogger), I just still haven't warmed up to the idea. However, I do like some bloggers more than others and some definitely deserve to be featured, Tommy Ton, Garance Dore, and Scott Schuman particularly. The three of them are more than just mere bloggers and are actually very talented photographers with extremely honed eyes for style and detail. Putting someone like Tommy Ton or Garance Dore (who have both been rumored to be in the feature) on the same level as BryanBoy, who merely voices his opinions and obsessions, is a bit ridiculous to me.

I don't really care for the bloggers either. Although I will most certainly enjoying reading about them..

This is just a random question, but I could see it happening, do you think Tavi could get a Teen Vogue cover in 2010? It just seems like a perfect match.

Blogging is an interesting phenomenon - but if there's one person who has seen innumerable names rise to the stars and drop into obscurity, it's the editor of US Vogue. Blogging as a concept is here to stay, but the particular people involved in it at any time will have their lifespan just like any other product featured in the magazine.

There are always remarkable individuals who can spin true longevity out of their 'name' - whether it be online, in print, on TV - but 90% don't manage to stick around in the public eye for long, and fade away. That doesn't mean they've stopped saying interesting things, but it's very easy to become a fad, where you're 'influential' until people have had their fill of you, and then they move on to the next wave.

Thank you for this tiggerrouge. I agree with every word you said. And I guess now is a pretty good time to feature bloggers, seeing as the Spring/Summer 2010 season was the first where their presence and influence was truly ubiquitous.

VOGUE’S BLOGGER SHOOT: Vogue is usually tight-lipped about upcoming features, which is probably why when it decided to shoot a group of bloggers — a segment not known for discretion — it has been said that all were asked to sign confidentially agreements. As it turns out, Tommy Ton of Jak & Jil, Bryanboy, Garance Doré, Face Hunter and Dore’s paramour, Scott Schuman, have been shot for the magazine’s March issue, according to insiders. A spokesman declined to comment.

On his blog, Bryanboy said he was off to New York: “Ughhhh never in my life I’ve been so nervous and since I’m counting the days…like what I said a few weeks ago, gurl, we’re going full throttle. YOU BETTA WERQ.”

Face Hunter wrote on his blog: “It has been difficult to make the choice, but I had to cancel my trip to Cape Town in order to get to New York, where an ‘exciting opportunity’ — that I’m not allowed to reveal at the moment — is offered to me. You will see the result early next year.” And Doré teased in her blog: “#3: How I lost some weight thanks to Anna Wintour. (This one I TOTALLY have to tell you about.)”

^Well, it's possible.

*OMG! I really can't believe they're putting BBOY in VOGUE. That's hard to believe, but putting him in the MARCH ISSUE, way way beyond UNBELIEVABLE.

- I don't hate Bryanboy, it's just that I don't think he's suited to be in VOGUE. I love his blog, I love him, but not it VOGUE.
