Will Vogue pick Katie Holmes or Nicole Kidman?

Both big screen beauties are battling to be the face of the December cover of US Vogue.

Kidman and Holmes both have big films to promote around the release date of the issue - reportedly leaving the Vogue team undecided over which actress should receive the coveted cover.

^Katie Holmes. Nicole was on the 2006 December issue. Surely Wintour isnt THAT montomous and repeatitive?

Call me crazy but why not throw a model into the mix aswell for the coveted cover, eh Anna?:woot:

I think Katie will bag this one,Kidman has enough Vogue covers as it is!

It seems that US Vogue loves Katie, she is always on their best dressed list. But i dont think she deserves their cover, yet!

NOO!! Katie Holmes!?! NO!!!!! She is the most boring and over-exposed celebrity at the moment! I don't care about her - shes not stylish, shes STYLED!!!

seriously - if they put Katie Holmes on the cover AND have another damned studio shoot of Caroline Trentini - then I will NEVER buy US Vogue AGAIN!! :ninja: :innocent:

One wouldn't think Vogue's Sally Singer, Meredith Melling-Burke and Virginia Smith would make very good bodyguards, but they made do for Kate Bosworth. The trio ushered the flaxen-haired starlet amid the throngs of paparazzi into the Rag & Bone show at Cipriani on Wednesday. The "Superman Returns" star is said to be working on a diary and photo shoot for an upcoming issue of Vogue. Her thoughts? "I really liked the show." But the Bos was mum on details about her upcoming partnership with the glossy.

US Vogue is boring. Anna is less creative editor in the world and I think it is time to understand this. She is stuck in her concept. Glad that there are some people like Madonna who can refuse her offer:D:D:D:D:D

In the neverending cycle of expectation, I'll start up a new one - I can't wait to see the October issue of UK Vogue... even more so, as I am no longer a subscriber, and therefore will possibly see the issue several days before I used to receive it.

does anyone have statistics of which issues of US Vogue sold best this year? :flower:

not me...mhm now I have to hope for Vogue October 2007 - Julia Stegner^^

I hope for a long-overdue Lily Donaldson cover for UK Vogue, but I know I won't get it. Chances are, it'll be some actress instead - maybe it'll be Keira Knightley again.

Aye, I mentioned that in the Allure thread earlier, and I was even positive about the prospect, because she's been looking lovely recently.

^^Madonna refused a Vogue cover?!

source | Portfolio Condé Nast

In the fashion world, you don't say no to Anna Wintour if you know what's good for you. But there are a few people with the clout to break that rule, and Madonna is one of them. The chameleonic singer, I'm told, was the Vogue editor in chief's first choice to appear on the cover of Fashion Rocks, Conde Nast's annual supplement about music and style. Only after she declined did Wintour turn to Jennifer Lopez.

In other words, the former Fly Girl is still a backup dancer.

Fashion Rocks is part of a corporate ad-sales program that also includes a televised concert, set for this Friday. Lopez will perform, along with Usher, Aerosmith, Maroon 5 and others. "The cover is always a performer from the show," says a Conde spokeswoman. "Madonna was never confirmed for the show; hence she was not in consideration for the cover."
But my source says Wintour was not expecting a rebuff: "Anna was a little peeved, to say the least."

No wonder -- she's not used to not getting her way. Drew Barrymore once called off a Vogue cover shoot rather than pose in clothes by designers who use fur. She ended up sending a groveling letter to Wintour, and landing on the cover five years later.

But Madonna's in a class of her own: She's one of the few stars -- perhaps the only one -- who can dictate her terms to fashion magazines without fear of refusal. Most notoriously, she got Harper's Bazaar (September 2003) to use what was essentially an outtake from her Gap ad campaign as its cover image.

So don't take it personally, Anna.
