That cover was not to promote her album. That cover was for april 04 and her album came out in november 04. So there was no paticular reason to feature her, the only notable 'fashion orientated' thing I can come up with is her L.A.M.B. line of bags for le Sportsac.

Like I said in my post, those featured on Vogue don't necessarily have to be models or have some kind of fashion line/fashion sense but they are usually noteworthy or famous enough in their own right that you wouldn't look at the cover and go "who the hell is that?". I think we can all agree that being the frontwoman to a very popular band who was in the process of branching out as a solo artist means that Gwen was noteworthy & famous enough to land the cover. Gwen's famous enough that she can go by her first name only, not so Bosworth. If you said a Kate was going to be on the cover of Vogue then the guesses would probably be Blanchett, Winslet, Hudson or even Beckinsale.

I don't think Gwen's new album bears any musical significance to place her on the cover of Vogue... I more think it is just Anna's subjective choice as always. Even need to admit, I like Gwen she is fun but she is far no Madonna to get cover for a new music... well I don't know... but i really wish Anna Wintour be sacked cos American Vogue definitely needs some new inspiration...

To each his own, I've always found Bosworth to be unbelievably bland & generic looking and magazines airbrush her to make her look even more so.

I've always found Gwen to be rather "done" but she is striking and does have a recognizable look. Personally she looked her best in the "underneath it all" video where she was bare-faced.

ANyone know when the Dec Vogue hits the stands?
