Cover Rumor Thread

^when was the last time julia had a us vogue cover? i can't even remember one. it seems unlikely she'll get a cover even if she is a co-chair. armani may love her, but i don't think anna wintour does.
I dont see a reason why Anna wouldnt like Roberts?:huh:And if that was true,Julia would never co-host the MET.Its pretty sure that she will get the cover, since Cate and Sienna got one aswell.Julia's last US Vogue cover(if i am not mistaken)was June 1994 by Herb Ritts,so i think she is long overdue for another. She is one of the most private stars of today, and hasnt done many films latey so there was no reason to put her on the cover. But i think she is one of those Oscar winning actresses that Wintour always loves, and who can always count on getting the cover.Like Brooke Shields,Sandra Bullock,Winona Ryder,Paltrow.etc

i think the only reason why she's co-hosting is because she's had a long standing relationship with armani, and she's very high profile. if she hasn't had a cover in over ten years, i think that reflects that anna isn't exactly a fan. julia may be private, but she's been on hundreds of covers (from harper's to W and many others), so that can't be the reason why she hasn't gotten a vogue cover in the past decade. cate had several covers before she co-hosted the benefit, so i highly doubt that it was her participation with the met that landed her a cover.

^^Well i hope she gets it,i still dont think Anna neccessarily dosent like her,but who knows. And that cover of Cate prior to MET was focused on her co-hosting,we will see.

I would love to see Julia Roberts for US Vogue ^_^

Agree... I think her contribution to cinema is outstanding and she is Pretty Woman don't forget about it;-))) I like her she is nice and I am not her fan at all but Id like to c her on the cover of US Vogue...

I hope she gets a cover too...Regardless of whether people on tFS like her or not she's very popular in the States & it would be a smart choice for Anna to give her a cover!

"or kate bosworth, but i'd still love to see a model..."

I don't think she's going to get a cover. All the Vogue rumors mentioned that Vogue were covering her for something to do with fashion week and a cover story was a possibility. In Nov Vogue Kate has a full page piece as "girl of the moment" (I think Vogue are 4-5 yrs too late with that personally) and they have pics of her from fashion week - so I'm thinking this was the piece that fashion week were talking about and nothing more.

^^I hope you are right, but i think that rumor was from WWD and they are very reliable. If it wont be her, then its Penelope Cruz we saw candids of her from the set with Annie Leibovitz.

I wouldn't rule a cover out...here's a bit from fwd...

(BEIJING) Kate Bosworth had plenty of reasons to be in a great mood while watching Fendi's spectacular fashion show on the Great Wall of China Friday afternoon. For one, the actress was seated alongside Ziyi Zhang, her co-star in the upcoming action drama The Laundry Warrior, which the two are set to start filming in two weeks in New Zealand. "It's a bit of ancient Asian influences combined with, if you can imagine it, the Old West," said Bosworth of the Korean/U.S. production directed by Lee Seung-Moo. "And somehow they come together in a Coen Brothers-meets-Tim Burton way. The entire film basically takes place in an abandoned carny village and I play a knife thrower, but a bad knife thrower." While filming down under, Bosworth will be prepping to start promoting her two upcoming films, 21, and The Girl in the Park, the former of which is set to debut in March and is tied into a feature story and potential February Vogue cover based on her adventures after having attended New York's Fashion Week this past September with Sally Singer, the magazine's fashion news/features director. But that's not all. While in town to co-host the 7th on Sale gala benefiting HIV/AIDS research on November 15, when the 2007 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award winner will be announced, Bosworth will, ironically, come full circle when she is photographed by Reed Krakoff for an upcoming Coach advertising campaign that will run in China.
"It was absolutely magnificent," said Bosworth of the Great Wall. "It was definitely the first time I took my camera out more than the photographers."

I was actualy looking if it had been posted any information about Penélope US Vogue cover, because now it seems it's a sure thing.
Last weekend one of Almodóvar's muses talked about it in a tv program. Apparently the whole Almodóvar troop (including the director himself) took part in the photo shoot. It's all the same Spanish cliché seen a million times before: everybody dressed as a flamenco dancer, torero, etc. Actualy, a real bullfighter took part in it as well. (It's disgusting that US Vogue decides to glorify that shame).:yuk:
As an Spaniard it makes me sick how we are always portrayed. I'm from the north and here there's nothing of that sh_t.

^^Oooh but i am a huge Almodóvar fan,so its not that bad if he and his other muses will be in the spread,at least it wont be only Penelope(who outside Pedros movies bores me to death).

It's just like how with fashion editorials based on Brazil everyone is tanned, busty, big, thick hair and wearing very bright colours and short dresses. I don't think everyone in Brazil runs around like that, and I don't think people in Spain dress like matadors or flamenco dancers, either.

I want to see the new Vogue Italia, and I want to see it NOW (although I know that I'll no doubt have to wait another week). O come ye, Vogue Italia! And be a nice cover, not once that involves soldiers or scary fringes. Be something sensual or historically evocative - or simply beautiful.
