id much rather have bosworth than fergie on a cover...

such a shame and stupid move that they wont feauture all the SATC girls on the cover :(

I'm surprised Renee Zelwegger isn't getting a Vogue cover so far. She has a movie with George Clooney coming out soon......

...

Anna's choices for Vogue boggle my mind sometimes. At first, excluding the other Sex and the City girls made sense to me because they haven't been deemed Vogue-worthy in the past (vs. SJP who has been on the cover one too many times...ugh).

But then I thought about it some more and realized that mediocre stars like the Spice Girls and Britney Spears made the cover, so why not just include all of the Sex and the City women (no matter how mediocre they may seem compared to princess SJP).

As much as I hate Sex and the City (and the women on it) I was actually looking forward to a group cover. Too bad group covers supposedly don't sell well...

^I would like to see group cover too. Maybe some other magazine would do that? I'm not sure if Sex and the city would be that kind of movie, which will be cover on movie magazine either.

Jamie Bell is in Vogue
Dressed in stylish polos and buttondowns, Jumper star Jamie Bell gets primped for a photo shoot for Vogue on the roof of a downtown hotel in Los Angeles on Thursday.
This spread should make the May 2008 issue of Vogue.
Bell, 21, whose break-out role in Billy Elliot won him much critical praise, can next be seen in war drama Defiance costarring Daniel Craig and Liev Schreiber. No release date has been set yet.

I wonder what this year will bring in terms of magazine covers. I mean, the hot topic of last year was the fact that models weren't getting enough covers in comparison to celebrities.

I wonder if Anna, in particular, will start to use more models - or if she will ignore popular opinion and go own with her own agenda.

I'm hoping for at least a normal model cover for US Vogue. And by normal model, I mean NOT Gisele Bundchen, Natalia Vodianova or Kate Moss.

There is no way you can call Spice Girls mediocre(their talents yes,not their achievements)stars. At that time which was in 1997 Spice Girls were on peak of their fame and they were in huge demand, even for the crazy clothes they wore so it was cool she put them on the cover, because when you look back at history of their covers thats what was going on at the time, there is no way you could ignore the SG mania which was going on all around the world.(and i hated them with passion)

Britney Spears was not the mess we see today, but i agree it was so weird to see her on the cover, i still remember being in shock when i saw it lol.

And it is interesting that group covers dont sell, i think Anna should have put them on the cover years ago when SATC was a huge hit but she missed it.It could have made for an iconic cover, and this time around she again didnt do it,sad.

IMO the popular opinion as you suggest (except of course at places like tFS) don't want to see models on the cover of Vogue...which is why they aren't featured on a regular basis right now. I don't think Anna has her own agenda but she knows exactly what she's doing.

And if the clean-living yet unstylish Britney of "back then" could get a cover, then putting Beyonce on the cover would be no different.

In terms of cover trends, I note that W has been going for the new formula of "girl and guy" covers, and with the news of Gisele and the sportsman, I was wondering if US Vogue is going to pick up on that as well... sure, they've had girl-and-guy covers in the past, but so infrequently, we remember them as an event. Could we be seeing more of them?
