^No, nobody ever knows and it gets everybody all rattled up, I don't have the energy for another "January Guinevere Van Lunatic" episode. Plus I like that Anja is having to wait, it's like Tom Cruise and the Oscar, maybe she'll get one when she's like 30, and she'll be on the fold out.

^Nope....Her biggest covers seem to be a shared Nylon cover, a mouth only NYT Style cover and a couple of Numero covers.

Upcoming Vanity Fair...

The Hiss Squad has been buzzing all week about an upcoming Vanity Fair cover set to feature the original gang of authentic supermodels. That's the big clue cause it will be a big big cover moment! The sustained hiss is that they're looking to mingle the coolest of the cool legendary supermodel types with the newest of the new, new breed beauties. That should be gorgeous no? Question is can you guess which of the legends is set to shine centerpiece. The right girls in the right clothes staying at the right hotel turned out to be of eternal, appeal?

Well, if i't's really the newest of the new as TI says then I agree with miwa....but my logic tells me it will be Raquel, Doutzen, Hilary, Stam etc.... basically the girls from the MDC Top 10 so to say.

yes, i'd love to see carolyn murphy too, i have a new found respect for her after that Paris Vogue cover and editorial with her looking fun and a little cheeky and dare i say it, old in a cool "carine" way, rather than mums magazine and lancome-ish.

but i'm resigning myself to the fact this cover will be a bit of a disappointment! sighh.

Who invented the supermodel? Was it Gianni Versace when he started to employ the top editorial stars of the day in his runway shows? Was it Steven Meisel when he started to bulk-book The Trinity (Christy, Linda, Omi) month after month for every gig in sight? Maybe it was Gerald Marie and John Casablancas when they started to package the right girls dressed in the right clothes, staying at the right hotel at premium rates to the clients. Or was it the girls who took these opportunities as presented by Gianni and Steven and Gerald and ran like thieves with it all the way into history ( with stops off at The Fashion Cafe, The George Michael "Freedom" video and an aerobic video here or there). I'm starting to feel like it's the girls themselves, whether by nurture or nature who really learned to sculpt themselves into larger than life figures that made them so famous and gave them their enduring appeal. No new school kids, no late breaking divas. If you weren't on set for "Freedom" don't apply. That's the big clue cause it will be a big big cover moment!...Where the new school cool girls can apply is over at the Meisel CK Jeans casting. This makes me think it's only old school girls for the vanity fair cover, and super new girls for ck jeans. The girls from the George Michael video were Linda, Christy, Naomi, Tatjana and Cindy Crawford. Other additions could be Stephanie Seymour, Claudia Schiffer and Kate Moss (even though she's really from a different era).

I can't believe she has never been on the cover of Vogue either. It's a disgrace
