I think that it is quite easy to set a list of today's supermodels. They are right now the top of the top in fashion....they are, to make it easy, the top 10 of MDC plus also Gemma, Daria, Natalia, Angela, Gisele, Malgosia and Carmen. Perhaps I am forgetting someone, but really, Snejana and Lisa are not today's top of the top....they are top, but really not top of the top.
Maybe I've been buying the wrong magazines, but I haven't seen Snejana do anything on the ad/edit forefront for a long time (in fashion terms). People keep saying her name, and I just can't see it myself.
I'm hoping to god it's not Agyness ,I am getting sick of her.
Raquel or Natalia are my picks if we're going for supermodel types.Meisel has been almost singularly working with her in Vogue US lately ,and he did Vogue Korea with her recently. And Raquel is a fairly obvious candidate ,and deserving of a new cover.
I love it when the cover story continues 'overleaf'... and I'm liking the idea that it's an established - but not boring - supermodel. Who will be the first to bring us the cover!
A cover I'd pinned up of Gisele has just partially fallen off my wall and is pointing at me - maybe it's a sign... after all, she had two covers, didn't she, one where she was kicking sand in some guy's face, and another, a portrait shot with that really fit fella from the Dolce & Gabbana campaign. Yes, in the April TFS Vogue Italia cover sweepstake, put my name down for Gisele.
Me too!If it's not I at least hope she gets one cover this year.
Tigerrouge ,I love Gisele's covers. The edit that goes along with her cover of karate kicking the guy is crazy ,it's just her and him wrestling in the sand. And her other cover "Smash of Colors" is lovely.
I went to Gisi's official site to see if there was any mention of cover shoots, and found completely different news:
On March 17th Gisele was photographed by Parick Demarchelier. The result of the photo shoot session will be on the cover of the September issue of Vogue Spain. Gisele was made up by Brigitte Reiss Anderson and her hair was done by the hairdresser Michel Alemand. Last Tuesday the supermodel was photographed for the new eyeglasses campaign of Vogue Eyewear. The pictures were taken by Mario Testino; the hair done by Orlano Pita and the make-up by James Caliardo. Soon you‘ll be able to see the images here on the Ubersite. Stay tuned.
