This issue would lose all it's credibility if Naomi isn't included....if it wasn't for her there wouldn't be no damn all-black issue...that's for sure!

So I'm guessing all the girls Meisel shot for the CK jeans line are contenders for VI May cover gig?. There's no one really "buzzing" at the moment is there?....

They supposedly got the information from Fabsugar.....

And they used the cover for the Vogue creating contest here @ TFS! I personally don't think this information is correct because they probably misinterpreted "covergirl" (as in been on others covers before) into (she will be the on) Personally I think it is WAY too early to even determine. And fabsugar is not a really reliable source, as they get their information from other sites (late I might add)! I hope its true though

While the majority of fashion magazines continue to use predominantly white models, Vogue Italia is setting itself apart. The July issue of the quarterly publication will feature almost all black models — including cover girl Jourdan Dunn — photographed by Steven Meisel.
"We are using a lot of black models, like Iman, not only the models of today – a lot of different girls," Editor-in-Chief Franca Sozzani said. When asked why she decided to do this, she said: "Because nobody is using black girls. I see so many beautiful girls and they were complaining that they are not used enough."
This issue may potentially be ill-received in Italy, but Sozzani doesn't care. "Maybe in our country it is not the best idea. But I don't care. I think it is not my problem if they don't like it – it's their problem." You tell 'em Franca!

I agree it's early for it to be determined whether Jourdan got the July cover the May cover on the other hand.. (she has been buzzed about in this thread?)

^^ She has been confirmed to be in the issue, but so have Sesilee Lopez, Iman, and Liya Kebede. I think it is too early to determine the cover, and Im probably guessing its going to be a multi girl cover!

fabsugar credits tFS as the source for the article! Seems as though this is going to be one of...if not the most anticipated Vogue Italia in quite some time. Too bad not many people...outside of the fashion crowd will ever even see it. It's not like VI is exactly a mainstream mag...especially in the States. I doubt the issue will even get much media coverage at all here...hopefully the AP, NY Times, etc will pick up on it when it finally hits the stands.

The rumors about an all-black issue of Italian Vogue are true! And its cover girl could be none other than 17-year-old rising star Jourdan Dunn. We're not surprised Dunn landed the issue, considering she was the first black model to walk Prada this past Fashion Week in Milan since Naomi Campbell in 1997. Steven Meisel shot the entire issue with zero white models, in hopes the move will encourage other magazines to diversify...

hmm...i still think it's too early to know if jourdan got the cover or not. who knows maybe all this early buzz could get her yanked off the cover...but still i'm definitely pulling for her!

i heard from sessilee's thread that she did get confirmed to shoot with meisel, so that will be her second time working with him (LONG time coming!). but i too would LOVE to see gaye in the issue - girl is way too underrated!

Yes

Most all of the gossip sites on the internet get their magazine info from tFS.
It's too early to know who got the cover & I certainly wouldn't consider NY Mag a reputable source since basically their entire online fashion section is taken from tFS

Why should Chanel be punished for something Tyra Banks said? That is straight up mean and childish. Mind you, Im sure Chanel did not tell Tyra to tell her those words! That you dislike Chanel is another situation!Why is this forum so negative !!!!
