I know. I count Arlenis' Vogue Germany May 2009 cover as the most recent solo cover given to a young black model. Jourdan and Chanel on Teen Vogue; and Sessilee, Arlenis, Chanel and Jourdan on I-D were great but it'd be nice if a young black model had her own cover and editorial that didn't include an article solely about black models in the industry.

jourdan had an i-D cover (september 2008), ed and interview inside which didn't mention ehr race at all, it was just about her modelling and herself

Yes, lets move on..

No tibits have been posted yet, unfortunately. But I'm hoping for a model cover, which lets face it, isn't unusual for Vogue Paris.
I have no idea if the February issue is going to be an anniversary edition, never knew that was anytime soon..
Naturally I'm hoping for one of my favourite models to be on the cover, e.g Natasha Poly.
But who knows.. Iselin would be terrific as well. Raquel deserves a cover as well!

I second that thought! At least once a year, Carine embraces an up-and-coming model, and I am hoping that a newer girl is on either the February or March cover. After seeing Rose Cordero work it in last month's issue, I can't help but think she would deliver a fantastic cover.

Still, something tells me that we won't be seeing a model cover for February. It has been MONTHS since a celebrity last graced the cover of VP (Scarlett Johansson in April). Als, because this next issue is probably going to be the anniversary issue, I would expect a French actress or icon, someone like Catherine Deneuve or Marion Cotillard. We shall see though! My anticipation is high!

I would love to see the stunningly gorgeous-- and extremely stylish-- Diane Kruger grace the cover of VP, but she was just recently featured in the magazine, so I don't think she'll have a cover anytime soon, unfortunately. I just looked up Mr. Nobody on IMDB, and it sounds FASCINATING! I hope it come to U.S. theatres soon! Thanks for letting me know about it !

It seems lately that instead of putting actresses on the cover of the magazine, Carine has been featuring them in the inside pages with a couple of photos. I remember seeing features on Anne Hathaway, Penelope Cruz, and Diane Kruger in the past months. I think it's a great way to promote celebrites-- and their work-- while still reserving the covers for the women who should be on them: the models.

Isn't Rose like 16? I don't want models that young on the cover of VP of all magazines. Urajevskaya's 2006 cover - which feels quite weird in hindsight - was the last time they featured an underage model. Even golden child Jac has been put on hold for a while (you know she's gonna get that cover sooner or later)...

I'd love a surprising choice for February, but not necessarily a new face, there are plenty of deserving candidates. So tired of the same 20 girls/ladies getting 80% of the major covers. But, alas, those are the ways of the world...

^I didn't realize how young Rose was! Now it makes sense to me why she hasn't had a cover already ! And I totally agree that Jac will have a cover (or two) of VP under her belt sooner or later. Her age is the only thing playing against her. Give her a couple of years, and she will become the bona fide supermodel that she should be. I mean, she's getting lots of work now at 15 (soon to be 16), imagine the possibilities when she is 18!

I would also like to see a surprising choice for February or March. There are many models out there, particularly newer girls, who would be excellent choices for the cover of VP. I can't wait to see who Carine embraces this year!

Hope it wasn't too draining for the princess to have to glam it up for her first US Vogue cover. Such a poor choice. Zero femininity and style sense with that chick.

There are many female stars with movies either out or coming out who would have been such a better choice.....Amy Adams, Diane Kruger and Rachel Weisz among them.....why Jessica?????????

Marion is so beautiful too... in 9 she is just breathaking... but all her cover were let down so far... so I hope if she gets it , it will show her beauty well... bcos she is so so so beautiful...

I really hope we will see Raquel on the cover in this year, also it will be nice to see Sasha, Anna S, Lara too (but not in every second cover ). No Daria, please... and less I&V work. I want to see more covers shot by Mert & Marcus. I'm sure we will be seen at least one new girl cover, maybe Eniko? VP loves her.

I'm a fan of Eniko but i doubt she will be on the cover alone. Maybe with another girl, but not alone.
Raquel looks a logic choice but i feel the the ultimate choice will be Lara or a French celebrity. Hope not an international star like Moss or Gaga... Fingers crossed.

I read in Interview that George Cortina has just styled two stories in Egypt and Morocco for Vogue Nippon, so this Natasha or Daria shoot (can't remember) that was mentioned a few months back is probably for that mag, not Vogue Paris. I imagine I&V or Mikael J shot it.
