I wouldn't put too much into it.. last time they made a big fuss about a cover star, saying how long it had taken, how huge they were...turned it out was Demi Moore.

Wow that is interesting, but its certainly not uncommon for magazines to be taking that much time to secure a famous person, and trust me, its a celeb. They usually make magazine jump through hoops like that!

Isn't she perhaps... a little old for Elle's reader? Elle has a tendency to really stick with the younger girls, I know Demi was on there, but even so, they're rare.

Last time she covered Elle it was a reprint from US Elle I believe?

Ya she aint an Elle girl at all, but the last time she shot for them, and then again for US Elle if my memory serves me right. And i think women like her, and Demi, they are always considered by the magazines, regardless of their age, but we shall see. She is the one that came to mind...

US Vogue, Harper's twice, Elle...and yet only a Cosmo cover here in the UK?

A 'huge' cover for January? For a poor sliver of an issue, the let-down that comes after the glitter of December, deprived of adverts, usually full of useless predictions for the year ahead that turn out to be 80% ****-waffle?

UK Elle does need a decent name to help shift that issue, but it's hardly a prestige moment in the fashion magazine calendar - but if someone's got something to flog, it'll suffice.

I have a hard time believing it could be Kate for that issue. However perhaps she's already booked Vogue's March cover, so is perfectly happy with a January cover.

After the whole Conde Nast embargo thing ended and we saw her on Harper's cover, I suppose the 18th months of negotiation would make sense there though.

I believe her last appearance in UK Elle was in when Stella McCartney did her collection for H&M and Kate shot a polaroid-like editorial for Elle featuring the pieces. I think that was the last time Elle used her in a shoot commissioned by themselves anyway.
