Cover Rumor Thread

According to her instagram stories, Geraldine Saglio is shooting day 1 of something with photographer Angelo Pennetta.

I am so curious who will be US Vogue's cover model. The last one before the big issue, which I am still hoping there is a chance it isn't Jennifer Lawrence. Any last minute hunches on who we think will grace August?

I'm still surprised Gaga hasn't been on a cover this year. I don't think she is August. This year has been a surprising year for covers.

For Vogue US August I'm going with either an actress campaigning for an Emmy - probably a film actress turned TV star like Nicole Kidman or Reese Witherspoon, or someone surprising like Bella Hadid, Frances Bean Cobain or Paris Jackson. August is a month that sometimes calls for desperate measures after all.

I wish it wasn't Jennifer, too. I feel like she's over-rated in so many ways.

I just always wonder why July/august are filler issues. I know September is the big month for fashion magazines (Vogue especially) but I always thought people bought more magazines during summer? They usually travel more (so they're in airports, trains and stuff) or lounging at the pool/beach, which calls for reading fashion magazines.

A member here said Nicole wasn't going to get a cover soon, which is weird. She was a Vogue favourite and just had her biggest year ever with loads of success and probably an Emmy nomination and perhaps win. Plus she turned 50 last month which is quite a big thing right. Or maybe that's the reason we won't see her, she's gotten too old for Vogue.

Jennifer Lawrence? Nothing against her, but nope. Just the thought of her on the cover tires me. And her covers were forgettable. They were nice then, but fell behind the others.. and that's something considering the state of US Vogue now.

Is it also too much to ask for TV stars? With all the top rating tv shows with millions of viewership, how is it possible that we end up with the same old rotation of coverstars?

I hope if US Vogue opts for a studio cover, they pick Inez & Vinoodh to photograph. Those two shine the most in their studio portraits.

I also if wonder if Meisel will start photographing the covers of U.K. Vogue because of Edward.

^Just to add, at least Bazaar and Elle mix things up. They gave covers to Kate McKinnon, Christina Hendricks, Juliana Margulies, Kerry Washington, Priyanka Chopra, Viola Davis, Sofia Vergara... and the list goes on.

Oh and Geraldine by Angelo? Maybe a campaign?

Same here! It's baffling, just like January.

I actually think Nicole has been lucky to get such support from Vogue even before she reached 50. We rarely see her peers on the cover, I think she's got more across the board than Cate Blanchett who's just as easy a sell, for instance. So I'm torn here - on the one hand I'm loving the 4 consecutive new faces on Vogue and would like them to continue in that vein, but on the other I want to Nicole to get her 9th cover as well. I mean, she's the perfect Vogue woman and was quite frankly robbed of that epic September cover. Now it's going to Miss Congeniality!

I agree here about Nicole. Truth be told I never paid a ton of attention to her, but the notion I had of her was that she was distant and cold. After her performance in Big Little Lies, I began to watch her in interviews, and she was warm and funny. I would LOVE another Vogue cover, especially a September cover. But I think we know how that is going to end, unfortunately. I would love another Vogue, and it would be so timely. I love the new faces on our covers, whether they would be my choice of new face or not, but I hope Anna is not disregarding the "recyclables" for the sheer reason to have new faces. If a former favorite makes sense to be on the cover, I would like to see them there. For me, that is Nicole currently.

More like Miss fan favorite.

I do agree, Nicole would've been perfect for September. Not that much of a fan of her last cover, but her editorial did deliver. Scratch that, she always delivers, but Vogue doesn't.

Regarding the new faces in Vogue.. I have mixed feelings about it as well. I like the idea of new faces, but Selena Gomez? Zendaya? I like them, but come on.

Ha, like scraping the bottom of the barrel! Pop culture is having its way with Anna Wintour and the mean-girl in me is relishing in this. Back in 00's she certainly wouldn't even have regarded these type of celebrities. I mean, she made JLo beg for it, yet Zendaya got hers for Spiderman, lol? Zendaya, who is still stumbling to define herself and develop her RC style. Have you read her puff piece? I gave up past the first page!

Anyway, I'm not opposed to change but they should just give us more chic and dignified girls in the vein of Ruth Negga and Elle Fanning. Lets keep that Vogue factor intact. How about Naomie Harris, who ticks all the boxes and more? Too old?

I definitely think Nicole is just about out of the run for a cover after her recent InStyle one. And Emilia too, which is a bleeding shame. I can see Priyanka getting hers soon. While they're at it, they should consider giving her a bonus fashion consultation. Her personal style is in dire need of expert attention.

Zoe Kravitz is on the cover of UK Vogue Oct - I got sent an email to do another one of those Vogue surveys where they show you the covers and ask which one you prefer, so I also have the two cover shots (same as the Carolyn Murphy survey, both of which turned up as covers).

There's an article about Kaia in it as well, apparently.

From the Vogue survey (vogue.co.uk)... and if anyone has a complaint with seeing these, take it up with the people who aren't demanding a vow of silence regarding the material they're happy to put in front of me, because they want our money. I'm guessing more people will complain if I DON'T post these up.
