Cover Rumor Thread

^^^^ I think US Vogue September is probably a toss of either Blake Lively and Keira Knightley.

Interesting! Why are you guessing Blake? I am not sure how I feel about it. On one hand, she is beautiful and tends to photograph well. It would also secure that it wasn't someone more disappointing. On the other, I would be more interested in someone else. I am just not sure who. Who would you want to photograph her for it?

Is anyone expecting Cardi to have a feature (not a cover) in an issue coming soon? I feel like it's inevitable. Maybe even one shot, a pregnancy image even.

Not looking forward to Kate by M&M for Vogue Paris. I had hoped Alt wouldn't work with them anymore. Their glory days are over, nobody seems to work with them anymore except, strangely enough, Anna Wintour. They've become so trash and obsessed with fame, especially Mert. Yuck.

Lady Gaga makes sense to me as a September or October cover for "A Star is Born". Not only has Anna shown she likes Gaga, but the film is directed and co-starring Bradley Cooper, a perennial favorite of hers. It seems an obvious choice. Possibly even he would also be on the cover or at least part of the editorial?

Claire Foy has her turn as Lisbeth Salander and is staring in a Neil Armstrong film from the director of La La Land alongside Ryan Gosling. Two high-profile roles within a month for a Brit actress who's star is rising incredibly fast? I think she has a great shot at an October or November cover.

Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie have that period piece "Mary Queen of Scots" out in November. Could see either/both of them getting a cover for November, December, or January.

Viola Davis has "Widows" out for awards season. Looks like it has potential for box office and awards, prestige and populism. And despite her amazing work has never had a cover. Could see her getting a November, December, or January cover, too.

I'm into all of these. Knowing Anna's love for Bradley Cooper, I would hope Gaga would get the cover solo and he could accompany in the spread, that I still really want to be a character editorial (not sure if there is an exact term for what I am meaning to say here).

I had no idea Claire took on "The Girl With the..." series. I'd like her on a cover. I felt that Saoirse should've had a cover for Lady bird, so I'd choose her over Margot, but would be happy with either. And Viola: much welcomed.

This still leaves us a gap in who to expect for July, August, and potentially September. Would they give a second September cover to someone the year after they did it prior? I wonder.

Could Blake get August? I also hate that I'm saying this but I sort of think Cardi B might get a cover. August seems like a throwaway month because unless I'm mistaken, the issue isn't on newsstands as long. So it might be the ideal month to take a risk. She's going on tour with Bruno Mars in September and is expecting a baby in July, I think. Vogue has used her online, she was next to Anna at fashion week, she was at the Met Ball. Or maybe a model cover? Is Kaia too young?

NO to Cardi B. She's even worse than Nicki Minaj. Pure trash and awful music.

I was thinking Blake Lively because she has a movie that’s coming out in September and the fact they Anna loves her and she haven’t been on Vogue in awhile. Shot by Mikael Jansson because Blake does best on an location shoot

Yes! Didn't Vogue sink low enough with Kim, why would they go for tacky Cardi? I know she's trending now but with some time her hype will pass. She's got zero substance, terrible personal style, and definitely not the type of woman who should be glorified.
I could never abide Nicki but I won't begrudge her a Vogue cover. She's been in the industry well over a decade now and certainly deserves it because at least she evolved somewhat. If the likes of Rihanna can get multiple covers with flop albums and equally flopping covers, why not her? Don't think it will happen though, what with Nicki's upcoming Elle cover.

Another poor seller (for Vogue) is actually Blake Lively. Not that it matters to Anna. But it's somewhat comical to see people clamor for her. If Blake couldn't get a cover for Adeline, doubt she'll get one soon.

Someone asked why we no longer see those cinematic cover features from Vogue? The departure of Coddington could be a reason, yes, but I think also the fact that we simply don't have those much-anticipated fashion films anymore. Who wants to build a fashion story around Marvel movies? Marie Antoinette, Marilyn, Frida Kahlo, Katharine Hepburn, these are style bona fide style icons and as such made sense for Vogue. Readers of that era appreciated the production value of a Drew Barrymore Beauty & The Beast feature. Nowadays we're supposed to make do with an abstract and reconstructed version of Alice in Wonderland starring Kendall Jenner and shot by Mert & Marcus!

Surely Anna will do bradley and gaga together?

The best RUMOUR I heard today, was that the Beckhams have shot uk vogue september cover and a family shot to tie in with their 'conscious uncoupling' divorce.

^ No way!
Interesting that no tabloid touching a particular rumour that everyone's talking about today. I wonder if there's a super injunction involved....

Couldn't agree with your more re Cardi B. Still wondering how she's even famous.

Cardi B getting a cover? That woke me up. Lol.

It took:
A.) YEARS and MULTIPLE #1 Singles/Albums before The Beyoncé, Rihanna, Selena, Taylor, Katy, Adele, and Lady Gaga to get a cover; and
B.) an ACADEMY AWARD before Jennifer Hudson got a cover

... and now Cardi gets a cover easily? No mam.

Nicki on the other hand, despite some terrible choices over the years, can easily be justified. The style transformation, plus the semi-influence she yields. Plus how long has she been around. That in itself is a feat!

If Cardi’s track record easily warrants a cover.. then Demi, Nicki and Ariana Grande would like to have a word.

GQ UK is now doing subscriber covers as well as Vogue. GQ are claiming it’s each month so guess Vogue’s will be a permanent fixture now too.

No injunction, no cover, nothing true or real about this rumor. Just a construction started by SM trolls. I don’t see Edward going for a family esque cover anyway. We will get Rihanna for sure, it seems.

Gaga by I&V for upcoming US Vogue cover, but not sure if its Sept or Oct.

Gaga for September? Good luck with her most promoted trailer in history.

The rumours are true ❤️❤️❤️#StevenMeisel #Madonna

OMG OMG OMG after a decade, this better be true.
