Cover Rumor Thread

Never. Unfortunately. You know, they say they love diversity. But not that much.

Alek is too black.
It'd be very bold of them if they ever feature Alek on the cover, It'd be lke saying f you to this outdated standard of "commercially appealing to the masses" to sell magazines.

Didn't Edward once put on his story, asking the audience whether they would like Alek Wek on the cover? It might eventually happen - the pressure on Edward to cross every single milestone and jump through every hoop of the diversity checklist is annoying to me. A lot has happened at BV, and I'm sure more is to come. He is doing quite well - with the cover subjects he chooses, as well as the people who execute the story. It's a hit most of the times. Let him do his thing.

Harper’s has a Karl illustration as a special edition cover for the May edition.

...and if anyone's wanting a copy it might be best you order directly from the Hearst website, since there's only 100 been made available online and a further 400 distributed to selected newsstands. I haven't been all too fussed about the Lagerfeld retrospectives until Bazaar, so glad I ordered a copy yesterday!

I expected nothing less than an extravagant take from Justine. This won't be the end. I know there will be books, talks, continued features as we go along.
I am keen to see whether the entire issue will be dedicated to him. It will certainly be available on our newsstands, I'm sure.

could you please post a link of where I can get it? I went to the shop and don't seem to be able to find it.

Many thanks!

Sure, the issue available to pre-order here.

Also the Jennifer Aniston shoot with Alexi Lubomirski reeks of American Harper’s Bazaar. The Bookings Editor was on location in Malibu too, and thankfully going off the photos via Daily Mail, Jen doesn’t appear to have been elevated from ground level like the past umpteen cover shoots.

Thank you. For some reason it won’t let me do it but I’ll call them tomorrow.

Alek is a f###ing legend!!! She deserves to be in all the Vogues, not only british. It was amazing when VU put her on the cover. They did the same with Chloe Sevigny. There so many girls that were ignored with every edition of this mag. I can't remember if Laetitia Casta scored another edition besides Paris. Adut scores 3 of the big 4 because she's one of the models of this moment, as Rianne or Fran. Fashion is more open at this point.

I totally agree with all you said but maybe it’s not such a bad thing as it shows that Vogue covers are not defining aspect of becoming a true legend like Alek. She is more memorable than over 50% of models who graced Vogue covers, which I guess is quite telling.
I think Laetitia graced Vogue Spain too.

I apologize if this has been already discussed but does anyone reckon Sophie Turner could get a US Vogue cover? June, maybe? She's got millions of instagram followers, is gonna marry a Jonas Brother, has Game of Thrones final season coming out and is the lead in a new X-Men movie around that time. Her fame is certainly not greater than the sum of its parts, though, so maybe Anna wouldn't go for her?

^ Maybe, but a group cover with the female cast of GoT would make more sense rather than her alone...I think Emilia will get the June or July cover because she hasn't shown up on any covers yet which is odd.

I don't think we'll see another group Vogue US cover this year. If it's a GoT actress that covers it this spring, I think it'll be Emilia (backed by a hefty Dolce & Gabbana ad purchase, of course).

GQ UK - Taron Egerton

I've read the interview! Very crafty of him to say, well the gay community is all about inclusiveness so I'm hoping they'll have no problem with a straight man portraying a gay character. As if we have any say in the matter, to begin with.

Edie Campbell is on location with Lachlan Bailey. Sounds very much like a Vogue Paris combination.
