Cover Rumor Thread

Vogue Mexico April 2021 - Demi Lovato by Eli Russell Linnetz

So Vogue Paris will do a double issue for Feb/March?

Not according to the 2021 Media Kit. The February issue will be released on January 26th, which is Tuesday. It is odd, however, that we haven't seen the cover yet... which Vogue Paris usually unveils two weeks prior to its on-sale date.

May/June will be combined (once again), which is set to be the magazine's 100th anniversary issue.

It’s gonna be the 100th or 101th? Haha they should do the right way. can you post the link of media kit?

Am I correct in thinking that they actually kept the same amount of issues per year in 2020? May/June was merged, but July and August were both standalone. And they had no 'lockdown' edits like celebrities photographing themselves or any Zoom content either.

Guess Alt must be doing something right.

From the July 2020 issue:

Anja par Anja

Mica
Photography: Mica's boyfriend
Model: Mica Argañaraz

Rianne

Model: Rianne van Rompaey

Anna
Photography: Anna Ewers' mother
Model: Anna Ewers

So they definitely had ‘lockdown’ edits. And the I&V jewellery ed for September made up of collages of their previous work counts as a ‘lockdown’ edit too in my opinion.

Vogue's March 2021 issue will dive into the new alignment between creativity and independence in fashion, culture and the arts and look athow today's creatives are setting their own terms and making their own rules. All 26 international Vogue March editions will have a shared coverline of Creativity.

looks like Creatives will be on the covers of Vogue again...

I’m taking that statement as it will be just another theme in which all editions of Vogue will share? Like Vogue Vaules? These naff marketing ploys of themed issues are an embarrassment to the Vogue brand.

The theme of creativity will be a laugh a minute. Most editors working at Vogue wouldn’t know creativity if it jumped up and smacked them - especially those at Vogue Italia.

Oh, God. Here we go again. These themed covers are no different than reprints imo. They may as well reprint one shoot across the globe.
I find the theme as illogical as Vogue doing a special fashion issue. Isn't every issue supposed to be a 'creativity' issue, at least for Taiwan, Portugal, Ukraine, and Czech...

Farneti will be the last one to release his cover so at least we'll know the worst will be left for last. I have faith in Vogue Taiwan, but what about Vogue China who is still under Anna's clutches?

Watch these covers speak about creativity while showing none of it!

I suppose many countries are undergoing lockdown again given the new strain. That “creativity issue” was probably proposed to tackle this. And yes, I expect nothing but a series of insipid illustrations. If it’s worse than that, I don’t think I will have any faith left in fashion magazines.
