US Vogue October is Lorde, shot by the first French photographer to shoot a US Vogue cover since Demarchelier. As with Colin Dodgson, this will also be his first Vogue cover. He's from the new wave.

This will also be the 3rd cover this year to be shot by a photographer who never shot covers for the magazine before.

Théo de Gueltzl sounds like the obvious choice. He has contributed to the magazine before and his aesthetic follows the warm look of Colin Dodgson (and Jamie Hawkesworth before him).

More left-of-field choices would be Hugo Comte or Julien Martinez Leclerc? Hugo has contributed to the magazine before so I won't rule it out...

Hugo Comte would be great, but he too has shot a VI cover. I will reserve my judgement until I see the final product, but I'm very excited for Lorde!

Agreed! Maybe that's why she sent the 73 Questions vid out ahead of time, to make her audience cosy with Lorde that way when the cover drops it doesn't seem that odd or random.

It's Théo indeed, didn't think his name would pop up so quick. I'm anticipating this cover with his work for M Le Monde in mind which is actually good, Hope it won't disappoint as Ethan did for September.

Cardi B had a 73 questions just a couple of months before her cover, so it’s rare but not unprecedented. In a way it could be seen as a trial run, to see how well the video does on socials, to gauge audience interest.

Genuinely surprised the Lorde rumour is true, but I’m happy - she’s a refreshing choice and such a talent. Honestly would’ve thought Anna would’ve gone for Dua or even Olivia over Lorde, but I’m not complaining!

They should! Why would I lie about not having insider knowledge, when having it is far more useful/enviable around these parts than making the occasional accurate prediction? And if I had insider knowledge and didn’t want people to know, I would just keep my mouth shut when it comes to predictions, unless I was playing some strange mind game? Make it make sense.

She's been on Teen Vogue and Vogue Australia, I believe. She's been on Elle a few times, too, most notably a beautiful and Vogue-like October 2014 cover.

I've been wondering if Kristen Stewart will cover Vogue soon because of the Spencer movie. If not even this makes Anna give her another cover... it's been over one decade since her only one.

I feel like Elizabeth will get a cover for playing Diana in The Crown personally. I can’t see both Kristen and her getting the cover, but either way, two Diana to pick from.

Spencer premiere is next month, meanwhile The Crown is set to release sometimes next year so I think that realistically they could both get covers despite the similarity of their projects. I'm also pretty certain that Imelda Staunton is bound to get one as well, since both actresses that portrayed Queen Elizabeth so far got either US or UK covers (or both, in Claire's case).

If Kristen gets good reviews after the Venice\TIFF premieres, I think that would indicate an Oscar campaign and we’d potentially see a cover not necessarily coinciding with the film’s initial release, but with the awards campaign (which wraps up with the Oscars in March 2022)
