Cover Rumor Thread

There's something here. I see her on the cover, not soon but seems possible. Singers rules American Vogue covers most of the times (that doesn't mean that I like it).

^ it’s only a matter of time, for sure

The jumpsuit gives her cankles, I hate how the bottom looks. And her stylists so often dress her as if she's a flat chested woman, let Meg's breasteses breathe!!

Can't wait to see her on the cover, though! Let's hope it doesn't turn out to be a sad little waste of time like most their content these days.

What's next for British Vogue? When is the date? I have curiosity because Meisel is making most of the covers now. It's quite unpredictible. I didn't see Kristen, Naomi and Gisele scoring new covers by him, even after their comebacks. Lila was a rumor since the start of the year, it was the only case we knew it. The good part is that almost all the cover subjects from this years were models. Edward is doing the American Vogue we wanted for years, with fashion icons and glamour. I do miss when new girls were introduced by Steven on the cover of VI. Last time was December 2018 and April 21.

ELLE UK is a partnership with Nike. 3 covers, all female athletes. They’re marking it on Socials as a Paid Partnership too, so clearly very open to saying Nike bought the covers I suppose.

Beyonce's up to something (hopefully a pop album and nothing related to Ivy Park), and I'm sure there must be a major cover or two planned...

What I would give to have just one more r&b experience from Beyoncé, something in the style of Dangerously in Love or her DC days...

I’m probably incorrect but I always think of DC and early Beyoncé as pop. Basically everything she did until the past 5 or so years. I would LOVE a DC reunion or something in that spirit. You’d never know it based on media coverage, but I can’t even remember the last time she had a major hit single. I just looked it up and she's not in the top 10 for streams or sales among female artists. So I would love a return to her more commercial early days. And I don't think she needs to sacrifice anything, culturally or artistically, to attain that.

I'm no musical expert myself, but to me there's a clear distinction between Beyoncé pre album 4 and Beyoncé after. Even Sasha Fierce and B'day have a more pop sound while Dangeoursly in Love (a personal fave) has a specific r&b feel to it, especially the beats on slower songs. I loved everything she ever did, wasn't obsessed with the Lion King project (apart from a couple songs, Otherside being a total masterpiece) but I'm really hoping that with the next project we might have some sort of a return to the roots instead of a trap sound. I know I'll be excited regardless of what it is, but if I get my hopes up for another Ivy Park collection I might have to sue. And here's hoping that her next magazine appearance will be better than the blasphemy that was her last Vogue cover.

Regarding her last major hit single... I guess Spirit was quite big and then Apeshit before it? And of course, there was the Savage remix with Meg.
I'm so sorry I turned into a Beyoncé stan account for a second here lmao
Went slightly off topic, but if she is indeed getting a cover soon I do hope it's British and not American. I don't wanna have to buy an expensive *** pamphlet with literally nothing interesting to look at.

I just looked her up on Billboard and the numbers were kind of shocking. Even her bigger recent songs, like Apesh!t didn't crack the top 10 and fell out of the top 100 in just a couple of weeks. I know those numbers don't tell the whole story, but I do feel the media and her fans have an outsized sense of her own (recent) success. Multiple songs from Destiny's Child and her early days as a solo artist are kind of permanently in the cultural lexicon but her recent stuff just isn't, imo.

I think her previous work for US Vogue far exceeds her previous work with UK Vogue, so based on that precedent I'd rather see her on the former.

Anna Wintour was at the premiere of Jennifer Lopez's documentary and Deuxmoi posted about a possible cover... I hope it's true and it happens in September, something with a good budget!

Maybe it's another Jennifer who'll score a Vogue magazine cover soon.

Speaking of another Jennifer, Hudson just became E.G.OT. It's time for another cover.

Backing to Lopez, if there is indeed a Vogue US, I wish something very good, but covers and editorials are so basic that it doesn't even get me excited. My dream would be a Vogue Paris with something very sexy Alt style with Mikael Jansson or a Meisel shoot for Vogue UK/Italia!

Lopez by Mert & Marcus for American Vogue would be very nice. Or a classic Annie Leibovitz story. Do we consider her an American Heroine, since that is the theme of their August issue? I'm not quite sure.

I'm going to manifest Linda by Meisel for British Vogue one more time here. Considering how many times I've been correct in my Vogue manifestations this year I'm very positive on this one.

Wouldn't put it past J Lo to exploit her romance/engagement/wedding to Ben Affleck for a cover or two, but I still hope it doesn't happen. It seems like there's been a recent shift in public opinion towards her. I keep seeing people bringing up how nasty she's been to other women in the industry, decades-worth of examples. And then she's made it publicly known was unhappy to have to share the Superbowl with Shakira - I believe this was part of the documentary, the screening of which Anna attended. And when you really think about it, when's the last time she had a hit song? Aside from Hustlers in which she played a supporting role, when's the last time she had a hit move? 2005? Her beauty line kinda flopped. It really is her private life, not her work, that mostly keeps her in the press these days.

I think she realised, a long time ago, that you don't need to excel in any particular field if you want to keep your profile going, you just need to maintain a wide range of projects to maximise your chances of attention at any given point. And it has worked so well for decades.
