Cover Rumor Thread

I think Kendall is kinda underrated as a model around these parts, pretty much all of her work for the past few years has been ranged from decent to good. She just has a commercial look, and when utilized correctly, it really works. People make fun of her lack of expression, but most models just kind of scowl or stare blankly. Would I cast her in an editorial that was more focused on story-telling, something requiring performance? Probably not. But for a studio shoot or something just designed to show off the clothes (i.e. 90% of what gets produced today), she gets the job done. Fight me!

Anyone heard anything about the Vanity Fair Hollywood issue? They've had some misses in recent years, but this was always an issue I anticipated every year. I think it would be fun to see them highlight the actresses likely to receive Oscar nominations or at least in the conversation for one this year above the age of, say, 50. You've got Cate Blanchett, Michelle Yeoh, Viola Davis, Angela Bassett, Jamie Lee Curtis, Emma Thompson, Lesley Manville, Dolly De Leon, Laura Dern, probably others I'm not remembering at the moment.

Another kind of fun/subversive idea would be a Nepo babies (yes, the phrase is played out but) cover, and they're the most in-your-face ones but they're owning it. It would go viral, and that seems to be the goal nowadays lol.

Y'all should be glad I don't work in publishing with these ideas.

Kayako Higuchi and Jan Baiboon - Vogue Thailand, February 2023
Separate covers and photo shoots. Also features another model on
the third cover, but I can't recognize her.

There's a story on DailyMail.co.uk with footballer Erling Haaland on the cover of "GQ's annual global sports issue", photo by Buzz White, presumably the UK edition.

Yes, they launched the cover today on their instagram. Is an ok cover btw.

So strange Messi is not getting a cover after winning the cup. Had the same feeling a year ago. Most of the soccer players they shown in their magazines weren't the most popular.

Second cover is stunning. Has a Roversi vibe to it and the beauty is quite daring for Vogue Thailand which always shows a very commercial almost saccharine version of Thai beauty.

Third cover is nice too. Very safe, I'm not getting anniversary here.

Oh yes and one of my favourite British photographers shot another American Vogue cover for this year. He has 2 covers already...

With Emma and Cate? I hope the end result looks great.

Jamie?

Hawkesworth's Vogue covers are the absolute worst. He's much more suited to editorial only. I don't have high hopes...

Emma Stone, but I was wrong since Craig McDean also shot Scarlett in 2007
