Cover Rumor Thread

According to Weibo, Xin Zhilei, who just won the Best Actress at the Venice Film Festival, will be on the October covers of Chinese Vogue and T, as well as the November covers of Elle and Marie Claire.
That's an awful lot of covers, she must have a powerful publicist or associated with a fashion brand.

Yep, she’s the brand ambassador of Chanel, Estee Lauder, Montblanc, and Roger Vivier

GQ UK are teasing a ‘special issue’ with the caption What’s So Great About Britain? Unveiled September 15th.

GQ don’t tend to tease anything really, not even the men of the year stuff, just post it in phases. Presumably this means the UK isn’t getting the Glen cover. Maybe they’ll actually do something interesting for once.

What a relief! Although I never imagined the UK would get the Glen cover or that readers would find the conversation and cover star particularly relevant.
Pity the poor sods in other territories who might not get a say in the matter, imagine being forced the Glen cover with its underlying America propaganda.

I mean, Glen is as relevant here as he is anywhere. He’s in the same movies, the UK does get them all… he also spent much of the year in Scotland filming.

I personally think the ‘relevance’ argument is totally null and void at this point anyway. Magazines don’t really care. Cover stars end up there because brands have deals, movie studios have deals, etc etc.

It wouldn’t surprise me if it was someone like Josh or Callum on the cover, one of the newer wave of British actors out there right now.

The big bucks of Netflix are going into promo for Knives Out which features Josh and Daniel Craig, Andrew Scott etc.

If it’s a special issue, perhaps even a multi star cover. Can’t even think of the last time GQ did something like that, but knows. Perhaps I am putting far too much faith in what has become essentially a D list magazine.

Ooh I'll add Jacob Elordi to the list! He has Frankenstein coming soon, and it's the sort of big budget movie that would want a mainstream cover like GQ.

the tag line of ‘What’s So Great About Britain?’ would lean me towards a British cover star personally, but it’s true he’s very absent from covers so far in his career and it would make sense for him to appear at some point.

^ in Latin America we got those horrible Pharrell and Beyoncé GQ covers ☠️☠️☠️ October is a nightmare and not because is Halloween
