This is an inspirational image, take it out of the fashion context and it would still be very compelling and unique. It makes you ask a lot of questions - namely who is the person behind the mask, but that is almost inconsequential. Excellent work by Carine and her team as per usual.

It is a very clever cover, I love that it has a hint of mystery about it while making a statement. It's the sort of compelling cover that would make you want to pick it up at the newsstand.

The mask alone would have sufficed, and I think would have made a much bolder statement when it comes to creating an air of mystery around the cover subject's identity. I really dislike the Givenchy earrings here. Too busy, too crowded, too much bling (is there even such a thing?).

Inconsequential isn't the word I'd choose...

Honestly, I feel like unless it is the resurrected spirit of Gia Carangi behind that mask they aren't going to come up with anyone who is going to be more compelling than the Margiela.

Maybe I'm just over the cover model/star as a concept, but I like the idea of just having an essential piece, an image without a connection to a specific person.


UNLESS it is Soo Joo, then I take back everything because she's lovely and it would be nice to see her snag something like this.
