^really? what kind of paint? acryllic or house paint?
i been wanting to make some of my jeans look darker since they are fading...and i dont like faded jeans..ugh

You can dye them, or even load the dye into an airbrush, so you have more control over the tint.

tiny taken w phone pics of the result [the upper part is the "before"] its not that shiny;)

does anyone know if it's possible to use RIT dye on a cotton-spandex blend of stretch jeans?

Great job mirrra! :flower: Really can't tell it's painted.
Will you have to take extra care when washing it at all?

thanks, Avantster! i've only washed them once w short 30C programm, it looks fine so far:)

Customizing Tshirts

so, we all have these ugly over sized tshirts from highschool, or for free from events...
How do you guys customize yours? I've expiremented a few times, but all failed projects so far...

There was a show on style tv once, where an LA based designer showed these funky tricks on how to turn an ugly tshirt into a sexy/cute top for denim, the best part- no sewing knowledge was required! just scissors, and where you didnt have thread/rope you made it out of the tshirt itself....any of you creative peeps out here care to share the secret?:flower:

that looks awsome mirra!
i guess i'll try that sometime

forboltmain - i could..but the dyes i found around my area are tie dyes for silkscreen..dont know if it will be "heavy duty" enough for denim

The community t-shirt-surgery on livejournal as well as craftster.org has many, many ideas.

Rip the sleeves off and let them fray! Or if you are good at sewing, you can change the neckline. Make holes in the t-shirt or splatter theem with bleach.

Here's one.

1. Use 1/2 the width of the bottom sweep in elastic.
2. Pull elastic through the hem, then knot both ends together.
3. Cut off ends of sleeves.
4. Pull thread through the underarm in little stitches and pull together to ruche.
5. Apply mixture of paint and fixer (see bottle for instructions), put the stencil in place and print.
6. Stretch out the neck, gather sleeve w/ grossgrain and sew the ends of of the grossgrain together.

Maybe I'll actually get around to making one someday!

Bowie meets Marley tees reconstruction

This is some pf my reconstructed tees that I do one was made from a 3xl mens shirt and one from a large David Bowie shirt.. what do you think?

Thanks so much I was beginning to think nobody on the website liked it. If you design you know how much it means to have people truly appreciate your work.

Wow those are great Rogrigo, how did you do the straps on the white top, are they plaited?

Wow! those are amazing!, How did you make the last one? I love it:heart:

Yes the bottom is pleated and starch ironed and then sewn on. Everything is made from one tee then the straps are braided and the back looks like this.. A little lumpy but there is no perfectly sewn tee on the market. Anyways thanks for all the comments I am working on a clothing line how much do you guys think I could retail these for? Thanks so much...
