I love what thus crafster girl did with her shirt. I just wish I didn't suck at sewing, but maybe I'll attempt the tutorial one day. She posted it on photobucket here.
Some garments I customized lately:
Before and After:
I made a pair of jodhpurs from a random pair or creme, men’s pants. All I did was sew the part of the trouser (between knee and ankle) tight to my leg. I know that, to make them look exactly like the ones on the runway, you need a different/special pattern.
Anyway, this is how my own, home-made jodhpurs turned out:
Wow shilly! I don't really like the dresses desings, but it looks like you are a very good at sewing? There are to much rufles on there in my opinion, but it looks proffesional.
I don't know if there's a discussion regarding tips on how to... if so, please merge. B)
Okay fashionistas, what's the tip on how to get a loose and roomy KNIT sweater (ex. argyles, pullovers, button-downs) to shrink and fit your body to perfection or at least close to it?
*would appreciate it if you can explain in detail or list on how to do it. thanks.
if it's wool, you can get it wet and agitate it gently until it felts down to the size you want. it would be hard to be precise about it unless it's on a dress form or something though...
yeah- where did you get the idea that this is even possible..
you can certainly shrink things...if they are natural fibres...
by washing in hot water and putting in the dryer...
but you cannot control how much or in what way it shrinks...
...
and this would be considered --DIY...
or customization....
so i will merge with that thread in that forum...
