Daily Exercise

I signed up at the gym in my neighbourhood today! Yay!! So soon I'll have something other than my humble 10-15 minute runs to write about :) But thanks to those who wrote me encouraging posts about it :)

wow this thread needs a bump..

today:
elliptical 15 min
spinning 45 min

30 min run/walk
30 min pilates

in the evening i'm going to gym for
-60 min bodystep
-60 bodypump

So my new apt complex's gym SUCKS!! There are very few machines and they are ancient. I mean dust is collecting people.

The only cardio is two broken down treadmills that they are "waiting for a part to fix them to come in"

Im seriously going to have to rethink my normal routine to work into this crappy equipment, or cough up the money to join a gym. Which I'd rather not do at this point.

You have my life!

My new complexes gym is crap, it's new construction but all they have are three treadmills, a stair climber, elliptical and bike, all of 'em are flimsy (I thought Procor was a nice brand) and I feel like I might break them. And one all-in one Nautilus thing. My last complex had a full gym like 20 machines and plasma screens on everyone of them, here we have to share TVs (WHAT, I like to watch Logo in peace).

Oye, I definately have to rethink my routine, cause I cant do any resistance so I have to drum something up, I do like the stair climber though. Im about to do situps using my couch as resistance :rolleyes:

This morning I woke up had breakfie and did 30 minutes on the treadmill while watching Designing Women, right now Im about to do an hour because I want to look like a p*rn star by Thanksgiving...

Oh the Gregory Peck picture? I love that! The dresses are so awesome.

So question girlies (and Diorling? :p) Who wears a sports bra? The treadmill and I are one but I have never bothered with a sports bra. The thing is I am pretty small (30C I think - pretty much equal to a 32B except I am narrower in the ribs) but unfortunately I am not non existant. Should I be wearing a sports bra?

So I try and do a three day on, one day off routine but often I dont stick to it. When I am excercising, I'll want to go every day. When I stop, I want to keep taking days off. Does anyone else have that problem?

Also I am an evening excerciser but my gym doesnt open late enough. Otherwise I'd be there all night! I try and get there by about 8.30pm and that gives me two hours before we have to all hit the showers. I do one hour on the treadmill ideally (incline of 1.0/1.5) 8.5kph. It is a pretty moderate speed. I usually increase it for the last 10 minutes till I am running fast at 14kph but I have found in the last few days that that increasing the chance of knee injury and my left knee has been feeling tighy. To rest my knee, I have been doing an hour on the ski machine instead (do you guys call it an elliptical?). After the cardio I do an hour of weights that my trainer has drawn up for me.

On some days, if I am feeling perky earlier when the bulk of the classes are on, I will replace the treadmill with an hour or 45min spinning class and I will replace the weights with an hour long Legs Bums Tums class.

today i did about 30 minutes of pilates, and some stretching--my back has been acting up...

i usually run about 30 min. a day too.

I don't really have a daily exercise routine. But on weekends if I don't have
big plans I go surfing. I do Kendo, and since I've been doing that for many
many years, I can make my own schedules, so I try to go to my
classes about once or twice a week for couple of hours. Other then that
I don't go to the gym. I don't like to run, or lift weights. I bike to most
places, so I guess that's part of my exercise routine....:p :D

SiennaInLondon: I can so relate to that. I usually go to the gym in the evenings as well, once I'm there I keep asking myself why I don't go more often and tell myself to go again the next day. But then the week after my routine is already going downhill again, heading home directly instead of stopping at the gym.

This week I'm trying my best again though as I'm not feeling good about my body and definitely need to a) lose some pounds and b) tone up!

So on Monday it was an hour of Cardio, and yesterday 45' of cardio plus 40 minutes weight and lunges. Biking today. Hope to be able to stick to my goal of working out on 5 days out of 7! wish me luck!

i run about 20 mins everyday and i know that it is not enough! i also do weights to tone up my fat arms. that's about it for me!

today:
-3,5 km jogging/walking
-30 min muscle toning (abs, thighs, chest, butt, arms)

i was supposed to go to the gym also, but my lower-back is aching so i decided to take day off

sienna: i'm so bad with sportsbra  i'm maybe 34C and i think i should use sportsbra. it gives more support.. but usually i just go on with regural bra and don't care. when running or doing elliptical it doesn't feel that good, but otherwise i'm ok.. i think. but what i've heard sportsbra are very recommended, because otherwise your breasts will eventually sag irreversibly
this site might be useful http://www.bravissimo.com/BRAVISSIMO/info/SportsBra.aspx :flower:

carrying light weights or even a couple of water bottles (one in each hand) might be even more effective! :flower:
