I don't think this line will sell as well as previous seasons, not quite as directional.

I'm not too keen actually overall, it's very well executed, but the nomadic aesthetic can only be taken in small doses.

What i'm desperate to pick up for next fall is a lovely huge black knit cardigan/coat piece & Damir has produced quite a selection!! woo

i think that this collection wil sell better! i have just received the first delivery of ss 09! the main problem i had with DD was the quality of the manufacturing...but luckily the have a new manufacturer and qc so hopefully all the lilkinks shall be ironed out!
i think the look as a whole is gr8 ..but think that the pieces would wrk better as seperaes and mixed with other designers......

I haven't read everyone's responses as of, but does anyone feel that the style is particularly Jedi-ish this season? Maybe it's partially due to all of the neutrals and earth tones.
The show is pretty damn interesting nonetheless. There's a couple of pieces that particularly caught me. And I'm honestly beginning to get a stronger hold on his aesthetic round-a-bouts. The long, straight-paneled jackets with oddly-placed zippers, the top-heaviness of the many of the silhouette, even the lightly influential traditional Balkan garb gone minimal. It's all there and it sort of feels homey.

i dunno,i'm kind of over the drapey nomad look....have been for some years now. a bit tired looking,in my view. and the plaits would certainly capture me if they were executed in a more interesting way.

That's what I was going to say. Now I'll just second it.

thanks for posting the pictures Inaya, I've been running around like crazy up until now. I loved the collection, one of my most anticipated ones for this season and also ended up being my favourite one. time will tell how wearable it is, his collections have usually ended up being quite usable and mixable.

I met Damir at his Paris store party (you can read more here), and he is a really lovely guy, seemed very excited by the response

Most of the more interesting details in this show are actually in the back of the garments. Some had wonderful exaggerated rear shoulders, others had intricate voluminous folds and ties in the lower back. People need to take more photos of those.
