The clothes have a very Gigli-esque "contadina" look to them.
The fabrics look like noble fibres and the knitwear is rustic but well made.

I would only add that the cheap "arte povera" backdrop doesn't do any justice to the actual clothing, which has its own particular charm.
Neither does some of the down at the heel styling: dirty socks, house slippers and rag sandals really drag it down! There's a balance to everything...

is anyone familiar with the boutique EGG ?

i wish i had known about it when i was in london last . .
it sounds very interesting . .

A nonfashion boutique loved by the design cognoscenti (Rei Kawakubo, Yohji Yamamoto, Sir Terence Conran, Nicole Kidman, Donna Karan), Egg is still a semisecret even though it opened in 1993—perhaps due to its location on a residential cobbled street. The eye of owner Maureen Doherty is behind everything from the clothes to the French antiques to the fascinating jewelry and objets. The look is very hard to categorize, yet is all of a piece, and people either adore it or don't get it—nothing in between. In early 2005, Italian Daniela Gregis, took over the main clothing line—think floaty but crisp, comfortable but sharp pieces in the best linens, cottons, and silks. The second line, made by Tibetans whom Doherty met through the Dalai Lama, transcends time and fashion. There's also a men's store across the street.

adorefaith where did you get the text in your quote?^

i love how so carefree this is
noting the current time, i almost thought this is part of HC and it would be interesting if HC could be like this, not having so much outward formality and ostentatiousness

concept for the collection from donnamoderna :lucky:
rough translation by babelfish.altavista
Expression of freedom, manifestation of lightness, callback to the life to the open air: the dress-north wind is born from a woven piece of, from one scampolo of cotton, linen or hemp. Poor materials ennoble to you from unexpected cuts: tears, tears, curlings, drape. That they define one silhouette soft, ancestral, maternal. Long and reassuring dresses, with the hems reimburse to you and irregular; skirts knotted around the life; maxicardigan outside measure in which to shelter itself; camicioni Empire simple and evoked to you; overlapping and unglued sottovesti. An appearing semplicità rielaborata with the bases of the pure sartoria. Never without: the scialle to carry on a shoulder, memory of a time that was.

I have to admit I see a bit of a Sybilla streak in this as well...one of my secret favorite designers.
