And I decided I'm not categorically opposed to 'sexy' Daria, not at all, like eword, I thought the GQ shots were classy. But there is nothing that spells C-H-E-A-P to me like bottom-of-the-boob shots. I don't think a single woman alive could pull off botb and not look like she just got off street-corner duty.

and i just said i loved the GQ pics! (see post #6142)...

i'm opposed to gross and tacky and low audience oriented pictures! which means - imo - in daria's case all those pictures where she (ridicolously) plays the pin-up and betrays her style.
in the GQ pics she didn't play the pin-up, the sex-object, her emotional beauty was at her best.
so in the end, if you want sexy daria, please don't make her play the sex bomb. let her androginy, her adolescent charme, her hinting stare come out and you'll have wonderful pics full of emotions (see also "la plage", "noches blanches").

the reasons... well...
intellectual reason: it was one of the first editorials where she got to fully focus her own ability to go beyond genders. yes, that editorial was a real u turn in her career. after that, she's walked a different path from the past.
other reason... ... i see this pic and can't help thinkinf 'if she makes s...omething in the same way as she smokes...'

The version of the story that I heard about her is that she tried the international scene in 2001, got rejected, left a year later to work at some camp in Ontario, then came back in 2003 and then she became an "icon."

The Spring 2002 show appareance, then, baffles me.

Not that I'm saying that you (or the site) is lying. I need her real modeling history! yarr!
