here..this is post #3753..where's she's all naked and covered in furs..
Daria Werbowy, the 22-year-old supermodel with a Ukrainian background and a Canadian passport, the new face on Lancôme, was in Moscow and told Glamour why she is so popular with men and in business.
How are you going to spend the money you’ll get according to your contract?
First and foremost, to establish my own fund for needy children; I’ll also share with people I love. And for travel.
Many stars complain that with fame, they’ve lost more than they gained. Is this gimmickry? Is it really hard to be beautiful and famous?
I think it’s true. It’s hard for these women famous for their looks because people want to know everything about them, about work and about personal life.
What’s a day in a top model’s life like?
Actually, I don’t consider myself a top model. And the day can be crazy: flights, shoots. If I’m lucky I get to sleep in. Or I can have a photo shoot at 5’oclock in the morning. My days are never ordinary. They don’t repeat themselves.
Is sleep your favourite pastime?
Not, not really sleep, just lounging around. You lie there thinking: yes, I’m just lying around, not doing anything, I’m so lazy. I really love thinking about this...a good book is in a hand’s reach, a new CD in the stereo – how can you beat that?
Do you do any exercises?
I run, box, and snowboard. Not even some athletes train that much.
Do you like fashion as it is? Nowadays, many models treat fashion like an occupation.
I like clothes. And I don’t hold my job for granted, for me it’s more than a job. Through my work as a model, I can make a better outfit. I developed a taste, I think.
Describe you style.
I like to mix. Worn jeans with something elegant - I call this style “grunge”. My favourite designer brands are: Marc Jacobs, Balenciaga, and Chloe. And cheap ones aren’t worth remembering. Although, I do have a house full of those things. I can go through them all day.
What kind of men do you like?
I like a man who’s mysterious and has that little something. Interesting and intelligent, definitely not narrow-minded. Also, my man has to be funny. I’m convinced that a sense of humour is probably the most important quality for right now. And of course, it’s important to me that we have common interests.
What made you laugh last, can you remember?
I was in Spain last week. The driver didn’t speak a word of English, didn’t understand my name and for some reason called me “Pablo”. I think they call all foreign women “Pablo”. Funny, isn’t it?
Back to men. Tell us, do you have an ideal?
You know, they’ve all already died (laughs). My main ideal is Jeff Buckley.
Who are your friends? Are there any models amongst them?
My friends are my neighbors from the town (I think she means Mississauga) and my desk buddies. I also have many good friends amongst models. We al travel and work, it’s hard to be friends. I’d say I spend the most time with Erin Wasson and Gemma Ward - she’s so fun, all Australian girls laugh a lot.
Who do you think is the most popular model right now?
Nowadays, there is no superstar. A modern-day model is not just about beauty, she’s a woman with many sides, one who has that little something. Of course, she has to have the looks. Gisele is Gisele. Is she a star? Yes! Kate Moss is Kate Moss. Is she a star? No, she’s a superstar!
Do you love yourself?
Wow, that’s quite a question. Do you love yourself? Not one normal person will find an answer to that question. I always think how I should change, so I would love myself. The only thing I’ll say is that I’m a mystery to myself.
