certainly more intellectual and culturated than girls who were engaged to ppl like briatore!

anyway, you won't have me here to accept provocations and i don't want to start any discussion about the subtle line between 80s-early 90s hedonism and trash... :innocent: just let me say that it's incredible how aggressive you nostalgic guys are. you never accept different thought and opinions from yours... well, that's typical of old ppl actually... :p :D

and it's rather evident you know nothing about daria, as a model i mean, of course.

- well, I'm 29 years Old so I don't consider my self that Old

- and what does Briatore have to do with being no "culturated"? I just don't get it. B) are you jealous of Heidi Klum 'cause she has more Supermodel vibe than Daria? c'mon, Heidi is beautiful and soooo smart, she's Heidi Inc.

- yes, I have seen Daria eds, ads and catwalks and everything is boring, she is the Linda Evangelista wannabe , besides Daria has the scariest nose I have seen in my life :yuk:

- that's it, I'm not going to post here anymore so dont waste your time answering me, cheers!:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

well guys, I apologize for my post, Eword is always being annoying in the 90's supermodels forum, he invited us to give our honest opinion on Daria here in her thread and that what I did but I guess it was no a good idea, sorry :flower: PEACE.

 Sorry you had to take the heat of it all! :flower: But we do love Daria very much here ;)

Well I'm glad to see you guys resolved this on your own. Now let's move away from this little bump in the road of Daria....

^ Kudos for keeping the peace Faith :flower:

I appreciate your honest opinions Joseph. It's always interesting to get an entirely different perspective.
I agree Daria and the few of her kind can be compared to the 80s-90s supers, simply because they're so different. One exudes the untouchable glamour and decadence, while the other gives off a 'girl-next-door' vibe, understated glamour from within (well to me anyway). Both types are incredibly good at what they do and we need models and fans of both groups to keep fashion interesting.
So Daria definitely is no Linda E wannabe, and in my opinion is more appealing than the former. But hey to each its own right?

btw, eword i'm missing your blog! Haha...China blocks the blogspot server so i won't be able to see your posts till August. :(

edit: ^oops sorry yourbestfriend, I left the computer in the preview screen and didn't see your post till after. sorry to beat the dead horse, feel free to delete my post as u see fit!

annoying? the posters who know me can go there and see what i wrote, make a conceptual comparison and then tell me if i was annoying. :innocent:

anyway, i think that it would be a lot more interesting to start to make a balance of this first half of 2006.
after months while we were *spoiled* with plenty of interviews and editorials, we haven't got any real news about daria for at least about 2 months. we only got a couple of interviews from Japan and China when she went there for promoting lancome, now we have this beautiful ad for vuitton.
so now we can appreciate the deep meaning of a sentence like "lancome gave me a voice": she has a voice - and visibility as a person - only when lancome *pays* media to interview her. which confirms that nobody is interested in daria apart from us (:D ) and the fashion mags/insiders. ppl may at times recognise her on the street, but there's no real interest.
and the reason is that so far she hasn't shown any real interest in getting interest from media. she hasn't supported the lancome action with personal intentions.
so again, if the word "supermodel" used to indicate an ability to get media attention, to affect pop (trash?) culture, at the moment daria is everything but a supermodel. [fortunately!]

and you know what? someone in the supers' tribute thread said - in a bad sense - that she's the 'antisupermodel'. i think that could be a very good definition actually, in so far as we can give credit - to say it in her own words - to her "battles against models' stereotypes". but if she wants us to give credit, she won't have to repeat mistakes like v41.

:( :( :( i miss your comments too...
actually in August i won't be able to update it cos i'll be away. :( :(

who went away from her actually? :o
it seems to me that discussing about her status as a model is at the core of this thread. actually her case is really interesting because it says a lot on fashion nowadays and the relationship between fashion and popular culture, how things have changed from the real supermodels' era.

anyway i feel in the mood of posting an ad with some super aura... :flower:

yes... it seems that models in the 'supermodel era' wants to get attention, they want to be big and be the SUPERMODEL...
however... most top models nowaday tends to live out of the spotlight... they enjoy being away from camera and attention when they can
and i think Daria is probably the representative of them... she is now at such a high position that models back in the 'supermodel era' dreams to be, but obviously D show no interest in getting the attention she can at all... she even enjoy/love to live totally out of the spotlight
i think this relaxing, casual life-style of her is one of the things that we love about her
