I'm sure it's on purpose, it's not like they just snapped with too bright a flash and said oh well.....

Well, I absolutely love the composition of the ads, the way her body and the dress looks, in the city at night is great. I'm not such a fan of the red eyes and the fact that you can't see her features that well, but overall its a beautiful picture imo. I can't wait to see some other shots.

Of course it's on purpose. It contrasts beautifully to the car and the red stop light, and kind of makes you feel that Daria's a dangerous animal in the night life. And of course, it's similar to the red glint in the eye of a terminator, or in the eye of the more decadent 70s shots. Subtly von Wangenheimian. This ad is sublime, I love it, she rocks, her legs are fantastic

although i like the idea of daria as a night animal, i'm not sure of my feelings towards this pic... the 70s effect is evident, composition is great, but there's some but... as usual i second what callidora magnificently wrote. :-)
more opinion tomorrow... now i'm still under italy's win effect!

yes, magnificent indeed, but even though I agree about the overt use of flash, the flash does bring forth that equally magnificent body Fearlessly walking against the traffic on a one-way-street using her Cavalli purse as an automatic, I mean, priceless and no less

In any case, when I look at the ad, I think it will look a lot better once I have it full size in print and you can see her face a bit more clearly. And I'm sure there will be plenty more shots to come, and her body just looks killer. I'm not used to seeing her with pale skin, and I like it. I must say, with her 4 campaigns this season, her versatility and prowess as a model is proven beyond all shadow of a doubt. I can't wait to start collecting all these ads!

I have to agree with eword on the cavalli ad. I do think that it is a good pic but I'm just not sure about it as an ad, it seems more editorial or something

I think I know what's throwing me off about the Cavalli ad. I'm not used to seeing Daria in a scenario where the focus is upon her body instead of her face. There are certain models ie Gisele who are body models, who are almost never featured in an ad that's not highlighting the body, and then there are girls like Daria who are total face girls, and in ads her body is usually quite covered up. However the Cavalli is downplaying her face in favor of her body. It's definitely a different turn for Daria, and the more I look at it the more I like it.

I think that those pictures might be taken at the same time the Neiman Marcus pictures were taken because she looks the same.
But i'm not a 100% sure.

is it just me? i dont find this ad looks like an ad and particularly stunning
maybe it's because after seeing the spetacular Chanel ad, i wont find other ad looks wonderful unless it's even better than the Chanel ones

however, this cavalli aint bad, it's quite stylish and it shows another side of daria, pale and sth like a powerful 'night animal'... i especially like the showing of her amazing legs

I LOVE the Cavalli ad because...to echo Callidora's sentiment...this ad is different from her other F/W ads. The body lines...the way her leg and arms are in alignment are lovely to see. That leg...! I never thought I'd use this word with Daria...but I think she looks fierce here!
