Versace Big Deal
Dario Vitale is nowhere to be seen at Versace.
The Prada takeover of the brand will be announced soon. A new chapter is opening.
Donatella is receiving awards everywhere from New York to Latin America. One really needs to be the Sun to outshine a Star.

is there some house cleaning already happening? lol
Donatella coming back?

While I personally wouldn’t pick Mulier for Versace, I can definitely see why Prada would. Beside the obvious Raf connection, I think that Prada’s aims with the brand will be to move it away from its bimbo image and go for a more “refined” and “good taste” view of sexy. His Alaia was essentially Pheobe Philo meets JW Anderson, but SEX. Which slots into the cold, frigid ideals of today's fashion.

^ I find Phoebe Philo to be better at making sexy clothes than Pieter, there is a certain sensuality to her works that someone like Pieter never tried to emulate. She designs clothes that women can wear with confidence without feeling like they are any more elevated than the crowd around them. Pieter and Raf’s gang approaching is very self centric.

Can't believe he managed to do worse than Ancora.
At least Ancora's debut was promising with the Daria Phoebe's Celine rip off campaign.
I'm sorry, but whoever from the management gave green light to this 80's gay p*rn Colt studio x Claude Montana with a sprinkle of Marc Jacobs 80's inspired extravaganza aesthetic should be fired immediately and not being able to join a high fashion company ever again. There is no place for any of this in 2026.
Funnily enough, all the people from the fashion pack praising the collection because "yeah but it's as polarizing as Lallo's Gucci debut", magically disappeared or simply stopped caring about Versace.
The only way to do sexy glam in current times it's by either Alaia by Mulier or Tom Ford by HA, very sharp and focused, of course with a sprinkle of Phoebe and pretentiousness, but most importantly relevant. No one wants revivals approaching 2026.
I'd rather wear Desigual than Vitale's Versace, at least the price tag is much lower and you still get 80's prints and clashing mismatched colors.

I disagree on 100% of your points:
- Ancora made no impact in his 1st show, Vitale did.
- "this 80's gay p*rn Colt studio x Claude Montana with a sprinkle of Marc Jacobs 80's inspired extravaganza aesthetic" is very new in 2026, for all those born in this millenium, and as you said the 80s were 40 years ago.
- "The only way to do sexy glam in current times it's by either Alaia by Mulier or Tom Ford by HA, very sharp and focused, of course with a sprinkle of Phoebe and pretentiousness, but most importantly relevant." sorry but I don't find Alaia by Mulier sexy at all, the campaign with Daria was, but overall not so much, it so drown in pseudo-intellectualism and not so hidden misogyny. HA is too severe, cold and bourgeois.
- Versace was never the place for "sharp and focused" either.
I can't disagree more.

The Belgians are taking over, and i don't like this NOT ONE BIT.
They are not bad. For me they sometimes have a hard time embracing frivolity and the light spirit that comes with it.
I don’t know if it’s Belgian or specific to a certain school of design.

At one point I adore it. In the 2000’s that vision was great. It’s timeless in a way but today I think it’s less relevant.

The great thing about Pieter is only that he works with a Photographer that injects a certain sensuality and lightness in his work.

Raf at Prada is a lost cause because everybody is taking themselves quite seriously there in a way.

What excuse me lol !!!!!!!!!! no way you say this makes me cry in 2025:

Gianni was going in a new sharp and focused direction before his death its well documented and written of and he always had moments going more clean even classic and then maximal extroverted since 80´s.

We need to see beyond the average mainstream idea of what Gianni Versace was he did many things and it's not all dumb blond caricature.
