i really like this take on summer. i do read comments about collections being too winterish just for the choice of palette. i always thought it was somehow annoying the association of summer and dressing like a butterfly. some people just love darkness 365 days of the year.

^^good point mullet
despite the darkness of the "color" the clothes do not look heavy or wintery for the most part because a lot of the designers chose to use lighter/thinner fabrics that relate the summer feel

and a lot of the looks are also short, shown with bare legs... so showing all that skin definitely relates to summer as well

This looks good! I always think it's so hard to dress in the summer, feels like my style's changing just because I wear more white and less black, but it's so warm to wear black in the sun...

The beautiful thing about most of these pieces is that even though they are dark, they still scream "summer!" to me. I like this trend a lot.

I love this idea for a thread! My parents keep asking me why I've been wearing mostly black lately since it's summer, but I can't help it. I have several short black babydolls that I love, black skirts I wear as dresses, black tights, etc. that I can't help but wear repeatedly, even though it's summer. I love the look and the fact that it steers from tradition.

hehe..'darkness' loves it !
i really like dark shades of colour in general,
rather than just quiet black

maroon, olive + forest greens, plum,
or dark colours with sparks of bright colour
