The Statement Necklace S/S 09

...best trend ever! i see all of these doubling as collars to be worn with plain white tees and gray sweaters.

The Ann Demeulemeester ones are fantastic!

Otherwise, I'm kind of bored of statement necklaces. Seems like these have been a trend for a while now.

yea it has been around for some time...to me statement necklaces is so fall/winter
but i love them anyways. never was too into small, delicate jewllery. i love them big and bold.
out of all the ones shown, ann dem. and dolce & gabbana are my fav

even though this has been a trend on runways for some seasons now...
*credited esp to marni and lanvin...

i think that we are going to see this go really mainstream now....
and we will see more of it on the street than in previous seasons...

*which is a bit scary because some people will definitely pile it on in an unsuccessful way which will be painful to the retnas...
:ninja:...

still...it will be fun to see the ones who pull it off well...

:P

I have loved this since Alber's earliest collaborations w/ Ligia Dias @ Lanvin...
It's so rich and sensual and of course, gorgeous...

There is something to be said about an individual who can pull off something so grandiose and dramatic and make it look elegant and effortless... takes true personal style, imo..

My favorite thus far... :crush:

i know what you mean

i'm hoping most people keep it simple and just go for one really cool big attention-getting necklace and don't overdo it by wearing everything in their jewelry box all at once

i'm liking some of those shorter chunky necklaces like those shown at dries and dolce & gabbana...
i think we've been seeing a lot of long necklaces in the past few seasons (which i still like) but the shorter length with the substantial size can also look really cool, fresh and decadent imo...

Ooh I actually really like that Victor and Rolf flame one. Didn't even notice that when I was looking at the collection.

Is anyone else getting very bored of Marni necklaces? I used to adore them but now it just seems like more of the same.

this is a great thread...so many lovely things.......

thanks for all the pics everyone...
