David Koma - Designer, Creative Director of David Koma & Blumarine

Interesting to see what he will do, but I'm burnt out by Blumarine and that look as a whole so hopefully he does something different whilst still being "Blumarine".

Not fond of his current direction at his own namesake. I get the reach and appeal, it just doesn't resonate with me. I personally didn't mind his Mugler. It didn't have the showmanship, but the craft and ease was welcomed. Beautiful seam work and great use of denim too whilst still being rather realistic and not so "mama better werk".

BLUMARINE today screams youth and SSENSE brand. Unsurprisingly SSENSE is one of their bigger retailers.

For a somewhat “heritage” Italian brand (est 1977 before Versace) I’m surprised they don’t offer more mature pieces.

They say making clothes for both the mom and the daughter is how you make money.

confused by what hes done at Blumarine so far - can someone please enlighten me? why has his work thus far gone dormant? also i hope blumarine under his direction wont produce clothes that are just for skinny twinks because david koma is exactly that and its boring and unrealistic af to create stuff like that nowadays.

He hasn’t presented a collection yet. I guess Prefall and FW2025 will be his first seasons.
