I have the persephone in brown.. absolutely love & adore it~ definitely one of my fav. bag.. it is indeed quite heavy when carried on the forearm or handheld.. I wear it on the shoulder instead and it doesn't seem as heavy - the strap sit nicely on my shoulders.. i haven't been using it lately bcoz the zippers aren't quite user-friendly (takes longer than usual to zip & unzip) plus to me, it's more of a fall/winter bag..

I'm so happy! I managed to score a bottle-green Persephone on eBay from a reputable reseller. It arrived today and I am in love!

P.S. It is heavy but I feel that it is about the same weight as a Paddington.

the hildegard was too small for school, so i sold it to my friend who was dying for it.

and then i bought the mushroom persephone. i love it and get alot of compliments on it! agree it's heavy but the rolled edges on the shoulder strap make it comfortable. i hope they continued this bag.

I'm glad that I managed to find this bag, it's a nice size and I really love the colour!
Too bad Derek Lam is not making this size anymore.

so so pretty! I love it. Not too big at all, I wish I had gotten this size.

edit: originally I thought this was the Persephone and was surprised that it doesnt look overwhelmingly huge, but looking at it more it looks like the hildegarde? I think it looks bigger than mine b/c it's slouchier leather than distressed patent I have. which did you get? either way it's really great!

I always imagined the Persephone to be much more massive and overwhelming, that size is really doable. Is the extra strap long enough to be used messenger style?

Guessgirl, it's the Persephone...I recall that the Hildegaard comes with a interior compartment with a kisslock closure which is missing in this bag.
The bag's half -empty in the photos (finally a size that takes everything!) so maybe the slouchiness makes the bag appear more palatable in size.

im glad there are still some people highly inetersted in his bags..however, the bags didnt do as well as everyone thought and everyone who tought it would be a sell out thought wrong... as i heard many shops still have some stock.. and as above mentioned LVR even discounted the RAM (which is continued season after season) bags at 50% off!!

was wondering what everyone thought of DEREK LAM being named accessories designer of the year (beating Marc Jacobs)?

do you think the popularity of the bags and shoes will grow more?

his shoes seemed to be popular, they were pretty pricey but still sold out on barneys.com. Although the clutch and violet bag are on sale I dont think the Persephone and hildegaard have been selling horribly. Maybe he was accessories designer of the year becuase he's been somewhat succesful considering he's new at it, while MJ has been turning out it bag after it bag?
