Dermalogica

Just had my 1st ever face mapping! Its great I would reccommend them to everyone.

My skin has reverted back to it's oily state... I feel like it adapts to my skincare so quickly and then battles against it

So next for me to try is Dermalogica... I think I might go and visit a specialist first though...

I bought the age smart lip renewal complex - not only do I love the texture and the smell, it moisturize perfectly and is also a brilliant lipstick base/primer.

I've booked in for my face mapping on Friday afternoon ^_^

Has anyone else had this done professionally?

I have to admit, I was happy with Dr Hauschka, but Dermalogica is the best thing I've ever used on my skin ^_^ I'm so happy to have started using it! I love that my face isn't red after I cleanse, the microfoliant keeps it glowing & the moisturiser is nice and light  Love love love.

I would definitely recommend before using Dermalogica to have the complimentary face mapping done, so that Dermalogica therapist can advise what products to use.

I use the Precleanse, special cleansing gel, daily micro and active moist. All in which I love.

I also find the overnight clearing gel or the medi bac mattifier excellent. The Dermalogica skin brightening facial is such a treat also.

hey i plan to buy some proctucts from dermalogica online : Precleanse, Active moist, Daily Microfoliant but i don't know if I should buy the Ultracalming cleanser or the Special cleansing gel i have combination skin, which is quite sensitive.
can someone help? TIA

^^Get the Ultra Calming Cleanser. I used to give Dermalogica facials, and I always treated every client like they had sensitive skin (you never know if someone will react to something so its best to use the most gentle products) and the Ultra Calming is very gentle and mild. The Special Cleansing Gel is for very oily skin and might strip your face.

I have sensitive combination skin and I often use dermalogica products. I have tried both the special cleansing gel and the ultracalming.

I loved the special cleansing gel and so did my skin - it felt good and I had no reaction to it.

The ultracalming cleanser irritated my skin and I got a red 'rash' each time I used it so I stopped.

But the therapist did say to me that the ultracalming cleanser should be better for my skin.

I also use the precleanse, microfoliant and the skin smoothing cream all of which I love.

ok thanks:flower: now i'm a bit confused.. but i guess i'm gonna go for the ultracalming cleanser or is there any other good clanser from that someone can recommend? i hope dermalogica will work for my skin ^_^

^I've used the ultracalming cleanser, and loved that it was so gentle and effective.

Also second the Daily Microfoliant and Precleanse - both of which are the star products, I believe!! The Multi-active toner is great too.

I love the PreCleanse so much. I have a pro-size, its 16 oz and only has about 2 left...:( I have had it since this summer '08. New one! I have not used the Microfoliant on myself before, just on clients. It was very hard to remove, do you gommage it off? It dried fast.

^you just wash it off

has anyone used the overnight clearing gel? i don't know if i should get it or not...i only one or two pimples during my period

oh and i found a pro size special cleansing gel for 40 dollars! i didn't get it though...i might go back and get it haha i'm running out

Nope, I massage it and let it sit for about a minute or so, and then rinse off with cool water. It does dry fast, yeah... but rinses off pretty quickly too!

The precleanse smells DIVINE!!! It removes grime like no other oil cleansers. I've tried the Shu Uemura one before, but the dermalogica is better, I reckon.

Oh, I've tried their anti-bacterial cooling mask (which I hated), hydrating gel mask (which I really love for its effectiveness and cool feeling), skin refining mask (pretty good, but nothing to scream about) and their after-sun gel thingy.

^monstar:I didn't like the overnight clearing gel, to be honest. It left this crusty film over the applied area. You're better off with Ole Henriksen's pimple gel or even Mario Badescu's drying lotion.

Love Dermalogica that they make professional sized products for people who use their stuff religiously!! I just finished the Special Cleansing Gel - which is superb for my combi-oily skin.

I love the lemon smell of the precleanse... I only have samples at the moment, but am planning to purchase :woot: I've also been sampling the oil control lotion, which does wonders for my oily t-zone during the working day! I've substituted active moist for the oil control during the day, but am still moisturising at night ^_^

I didnt like applying their masques. There's an orange one that was so annoying to remove from people's faces, and in a facial room, you're in a dim environment to relax the client, so you cannot always see perfectly if a masque has been removed, or any product, for that matter,:shifty:so I would be walking them out and see them in natural lighting at the front desk and they'd have a tiny trace of orange at their temple or maybe in the crease of their nose.:lol:

^Oh, I know which one it is - it's the Multivitamin power recovery mask!! I like what it does, but HATE removing it - it's sticky and gooey and the colour is hideous!

OK I finally have money again, woo. So I think I should start buying the products I was reccomended at my facial, but which first? My list -
Daily microfoliant
Overnight clearing gel
Skin smoothing cream
A face mask (forgotten which!)
I can't afford them alla t once but maybe one a week, which should I go with first? I already am using a nivea moisturiser so it isn't like I aren't using anything and I still have some sebum clearing mask left too.

I would get the Daily Microfoliant first out of all those mentioned. A mask you dont use enough to need to buy first, and its important to keep dead skin cells off your face so your moisturizer penetrates skin better and may keep you hydrated longer.
