The recent trend of high-low designer collaborations, from H&M's designer colections, Target's Go-International line, has seemingly become a standard in mass-market fashion?

Is this better than high street chains directly knocking off and stealing the "creative property" of designers?

discuss ;)

I say YES! of course it is better!
knocking off is never good! at least with designer collaborations, the artist gives "permission" to the retailer to use his/her ideas.

90% for collaborations

60% against knock offs

100% against illegal fakes

(perfect measurements...)

great point you have, baddabling
putting those two ideas side-by-side. the artist giving permission to use the designs by another company
it's turned a whole positive view on the situation.. rather than accepting "sell-out"

in that case, i agree 100 %
