Designers You've Met

Christian Lacroix & Jean Paul Gaultier...oh i envy you lena.. ur so luky..
i love elbaz, i used to like him as a talented designer but now , i like as a person as well..

I've seen loads of designers during the shows/showrooms/parties, but here are the ones I've actually chatted with:

Peter Jensen, Sophia Kokosalaki, Mark Eley, Kim Jones, Alexander McQueen, Lutz, Katharine Hamnett, Robert Cary Williams, Marjan Pejoski, Jonathan Saunders, Richard Nicholl: all tutors or visiting lecturers at my former college, everyone was nice excluding Katharine (cuckoo) and McQueen (drugged)

Raf Simons, Veronique Branquinho, Dries van Noten, Walter van Beirendonck: All very nice (For some reason Belgians mingle well with Scandinavians)

Rei Kawakubo and Junya Watanabe at a casting (they were scary) plus Marc Jacobs at LV (boring as hell, like his work)

Tom Ford and Zac Posen at a lecture...both seemed annoying and self-centered

Dunno about jetsetting, I guess it's more about first slaving at college and internships trying to get noticed by one's tutors/bosses and later on slaving at work and maybe bumping into someone (hopefully) nice once in a while...not so grand really

but this is grand imho,
i bet most college people surfing tFS would be willing to change shoes with you tuomas, so, appreciate your hard work and cheer up , i'm sure it will work out for you

I live in the midwest, so the chances of meeting big-name designers is almost nil, but ...
A few months ago I was closing up this pop-up boutique that I put together for local designers, and in walks this tall, very chic, somewhat familiar woman. We chatted a bit and I asked her name as I SWORE I recognized her...it was Christina Perrin! (remember her?). I'm a nerd, so I took a picture with her...she was very sweet and gracious about my obvious insanity.

My only other contribution is that a few years ago, Hussein Chalyan was an artist-in-residence at my old uni, so I met him and his design team. He was very nice as well (and very short!) and asked about my interests, aspirations, etc.

a couple of months ago i briefly met stella mccartney. it was at the launch of her husbands furniture company- to be honest i was more excited about meeting zaha hadid- who has designed a table for them.

oh and karl lagerfeld when i was younger (he was still fat!) with my grandmother whilst she was having a fitting- if that counts....
