i think it's a general Weinstein's messup, and Melanie was the one who got the short end, she's the sacrificial lamb, either her or Penelope.
i don't think it's fair to "compare" her on this subject (linking it) to Diane, since (as much as i agree Melanie was the one who, next to Chis Waltz, held the movie) it's all just bad, unfair campaigning from Weinstein's behalf and Diane, in the process, got extremely lucky.

I'm happy for her, but I have to agree in that she doesn't deserve it over Melanie and I'm a big Diane fan. I'm sure she's thrilled though and this at least means plenty of fabulous outfits.

Well, the SAG is voted by the actors, a completely different zone. Maybe she is popular with her peers.

This is usually why the SAG Awards are the most accurate when it comes to the Oscar nominations because the acting categories are also voted for by the actors.

But random nominations happen all the time. Marcia Gay Harden only received one win/nomination for her performance in Pollack and she won the Oscar beating frontrunners Judi Dench and Kate Hudson!
